I don't know if it's been mentioned here yet, but there's this mod for Fallout 2 that looks great and was released (I think) recently. The graphics look great and really fit, I love the modelling techniques done by the artist, and it genuinely looks really good and a love letter to the original Fallouts, despite not being set in the universe, but I haven't seen ANYBODY talk about it! Probably because it's in Russian and hasn't been translated to English.

Also it is a HUGE collection of properly made art, like custom critters rendered from f3 models, cars, also from F3, protectron robot an even exosuit armor from S.T.A.L.K.E.R
Like four years passed and nobody used that. Such a shame.

Interesting--the Olympus site claims that the game is completely separate from the Fallout universe, but it uses assets based on Fallout 3 content? Is this some kind of "change all of the names so we don't get sued" situation, because I saw that Olympus 2 will apparently be sold commercially.

No, and no, because they not used F3 models directly, and game is free. You cannot sell a game made on a F2 engine. Even if assets is fully custom.
O2 might be commercial, but even if they were using some rendered 3D assets, there is no way to prove it was from any game. Truth is, it looks like F3 models rendered, with animations that mimics F1/2 style, and most likely it is, but it's not a F3 assets anymore.

EDIT: Oh well, O2 is a full 3D. Nothing to worry about, it's nothing to do about Fallout franchise.
