This just came up on Yahoo news:

I've always wanted to have my own private country. Just think, no taxes!

Of course, seeing as how the "country" is only the size of a large house, it wouldn't mean much, but, hey- at least it'd be mine! I could put the BoS symbol on my flag, too, LOL.

But you would have to live your whole life inside that small country, for so that you wouldn't have to pay your taxes. For to be an independent country, a country that doesn't have to buy any services by paying taxes to other, has to be independent on all levels of society. Education, food supply, medical health service, internationally approved records for all of it citizens(for passports etc.) and internationally acknowledge boundaries, law enforcement, defence from an foreign invasion, etc.

And by the way, you can have a flag made for you, no matter what, as long as the artist approves, and it doesn't derive it's content from hostile intentions to other countries, and put it in to your flag pole. Although, somebody might be still willing to burn it, but that's a their problem, and the law enforcements, insurance companys, and if necessary your country's problem, and just a little bit your's.

Sealand is for sale? I'm surprised, to say the least.

Also don't tell me you've never heard of Sealand. It's been a micro-nation for ages. They had some legal issues with the UK in the past and were mentioned to be planning to house a off-shore hosting company.
