Problem with unofficial fallout patch

When I try to access my old saved games, the saved game slots all have "OLD VERSION" under them and when I try to load them, there's a message saying "unable to load game/ save game file is an older version".

So what do i do now?

Use a savegame converter. Also, you mean Fallout 2 and not 3.
