Question regarding SSD ports.

So, my new gaming computer has 4 slots for this very particular part right here:

However, I do not see any ports for this other part right here:

So uh, I'm a blonde bimbo when it comes to computer stuff,do I need to connect both ports from the SSD or do I just need to worry about the small one?

Lucky for you I just installed an SSD. You should only need to plug in the top port. That's all I had to do.

If my memory serves, the long one is the power supply and the short one is the data connection. So the short one needs a connector to attach it to the main board, which hopefully your SSD or MB included already, otherwise you have to go buy one.
Your PSU should already come with several of the long ones for power.

Or maybe it's the other way around...

I've never heard of using the short one only, must be some new magic.

You're probably right. My memory isn't the bestest sometimes. :drunk:
