talking about a Fallout MMORGP or 1st person shooter?

It would seem to me, that if this is the Fallout 3 suggestion board, that all suggestion as to what individual people would like to see in a FO3 would be welcome. But no, it seems that people here only want other people to think what they think and want the same things? Why? Isn't diversity a good thing?

I for one wouldn't like to see either of the two, but to ban someone for suggesting an idea on a suggestion board...is a little....odd...

A little explanation. This is the Fallout (RPG) 3 board. It would be as ood to have a Quake board where people talk what they would like to see in the next Quake FPS and somebody would come in saying they would like it to turn into an RPG. At first we didn't have that rule but after a while of getting the same suggestions over and over, which had nothing to do with RPG's, we just got fed up with it. If somebody would want to suggest that they would like a Fallout FPS, they could post it into the General discussion board. But the suggestions that we want to see in here are for RPG's not FPS games. The MMORPG thing has been added because we here feel very strongly that such a game isn't a good idea and again, after explaning why about a million times we got fed up by that aswell.
We just like to see Fallout remain Fallout and not get watered down into a cash cow for a quick buck. But seeing they made Tactics. Well, just say we don't always succeed.

I see. If that's the case, then perhaps it should be posted in the warning banner.

This is a Fallout 3 RPG suggestion board. Nothing else.

Maybe people will get the hint then.

Some brain-donors still don't get it, as I've since banned someone for posting a MMORPG idea. Thread of "I know you're going to hate me, but..." or something like that.

Let me guess... You WANT a Fallout 1st Person Shooter? It's the strangest thing... The people who want a Fallout 1st Person Shooter complain about the people who want a Fallout CRPG. In response, the 1st person shooters say 'My idea is COOL'. Then they get pulled apart by their own argument and end up flaming. THEN they get banned. (I must admit, it's nice to watch someone heading for demise...)

All I'd like to know is.. HOW can Fallout be made a 1st person MMORPG WITHOUT removing everything that the game is? Can you imagine how STRANGE a 1st person game would be when you get involved in dialouge with someone? Everyone who buys 1st persons wants to run around and kil things, a CRPG 1st person would absolutely freak those people out.

I'll shutup now. Basically, it's an old argument. BEEN THERE. DONE THAT. We've moved on to greener pastures...

Moo..... Moo.... I'm an Interplay Cow. (Ready to be milked with a Fallout style MMORPG with aliens!)

Yeah, there's a forum specifically for FOOL over at V13. Affectionately known as "The Idiot Magnet", it's there to collect and refer to naive idealists about matters that have been rendered old hat. Plus, methodically shoot down FOOL aspect by aspect. Nevermind pointing out the facts of why Fallout is the way it is to some people, the schmucks still continue to post stuff that would make any serious MMOG dev cringe or at least gouge his eyes with a rusty pitchfork out of self-defense.

Then it's time to make the pathologically-optimistic bleed worse than Ted Kennedy's liver.

The most laughable recurring wad of shit I've ever had the displeasure to waste my bandwidth with was written by some mentally incontinent chucklehead that goes by 'Methidox' over at V13 on that aformentioned board. Writes a whole load of crap with a ballistic approach to his own mothertongue, to give a verbose example of something that can be summed up in a simple phrase: "I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about."

Saving games in a MMORPG...how utterly laughable and without a clue as to how MMORPGs work.

As optomistic as I am about some kind of a persistant Fallout Universe being implemented someday (if a design is created that will keep it close to a Wasteland experiance), people like him make me wonder if he has enough nuerons in his brain to raise his hands out in front of him, let alone type out a moronic piece of shit like that was.

I've said for some time, the social aspect of an online game could be enforced if it were a non-commercial project. In fact, quite a few problems could be addressed if it were non-commercial due to catering to one kind of player instead of a wide-audience, but it still wouldn't be quite the same, and still would be a bit bland compared to Fallout. Anyways, we can discuss this on the vault13.net board.
