Hey i was just wondering what your religion is... I'm christian
I'm somwhere between naturalist and humanist. I'm definetly a atheist.
I'm Christian too... Currently attending LDS (Latter Day Saints aka Mormon) services.
Used to be an atheist...
Was a protestant once, was an athiest once too, I'm an agnostic now, though a very pragmatic one.
Atheist until proven otherwise.
my religion is n/a ... i don't have one
I was baptised christian, married christian as a tradition, and i had my two sons baptised christian also by tradition.
I don't believe in anything
Catholic because I've known nothing but. Raised and trained (went through Catholic gradeschool, currently attending Catholic highschool) as a true-blue Catholic. But, fortunately, my parents aren't strict hard-nose orthodox. I'm currently "wishy-washy" on the whole Catholicsm deal; it just doesn't reflect some of my personal morals. And, in my experience, most Catholics (my friends, for instance) are narrow-minded and sometimes contradict their own faith while preaching it. Some people thought Kennedy would be like that when he ran for president but he proved to a very rational Catholic. I dunno, I guess either I'm not worthy or Catholicism is not worthy for me.
Conversion seems like a possibilty (I've considered Islam because of the brotherhood ideals) but not until I move out; my parents would have a freak. But really, I feel that religion is inhibited or at least influenced by regionalism. If I had been born in Vietnam, for instance, before the Vietnam War, I would probably believe in Buddhism. In India, Hinduism. Et cetera. Until a universe religion is accepted (unlikely, though Christianity seems to be pushing its bounds), I'll see how Catholicism suits me.
Wouldn't that make you a nihilist? Thats the word, right?
Walter Sobchak: F***ing nazis.
The Dude: I told you, Walter, they're not nazis. They're nihilists!
Walter Sobchak (looks relieved): They're nihilists? Oh.
Nihilist: His girlfriend cut off her toe!
Nihilist 2: We thought we would get a million dollars.
Nihilist 3: It's not fair!
Walter Sobchak: Fair!? What kind of nihilists are you!?
No that just makes me a man!
Walter's the shit, yo.
im a LDS to though i was kinda born into a mormon family
Cool. LDS seem to be few in number, especially in the Fallout community...
Actually, Christians are few in number in the Fallout community, or so it seems.
'Saturdady, donny, is shabbaz, the jewish day of rest. I dont work, i dont drive a car, i dont fucking ride in a car and i SURE AS SHIT, DONT FUCKING ROLL!
'Walter, their gonna-'
'Shomer fucking shabbaz.'
Gunslinger, don't trust your friends' words, do some research on your own. My sister was in your shoes, once; she was looking at getting confirmed, but didn't want to. After she began to research the Catholic church on her own, she changed her mind. Now she's one of the most religious people I know.
I believe in science, it has done a lot more for me than any religion have
Catholic- I came back to it fairly late and didn't get confirmed until I was 25. Learned a lot about different faiths but figured that Catholicism was alright. Gunslinger, there aint' nothing wrong with checking out the alternatives, but don't give up on Catholicism quite yet.
As for me
I have fluctuated (sp?) a lot between Catholicism, Buddhism and Atheism. I used to have a bit of faith but to imagine a "god" that was absolute in very few instances and nil in most others irked me wrong. Buddhism was closer to my personal morals and ethic because it let me choose my own path but the buddhists' view of the "Eight Straight Roads" didn't appeal to me. I expect myself to fluctuate some more in the future, perhaps until I drop dead.
