Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, Feedback?

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
Well, I was rooting around in some PC games my friend's Dad just recently gave me, and most of them were old (still intending to play them) like Homeworld and so on, but then I found a relatively new game, and it was strategy (just what I liked), Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, well, at first I thought I would play it as soon as the desktop arrived, but then I opened the box to find their was four discs! So, before I install it, and remove a considerable chunk of my life installing and playing it, can I get some feedback from you guys so I know what i'll be playing?

Unless you only have 24 hours to live I doubt it's a considerable chunk of life. However as the above poster said, steampunk, so install it now so you can play something great just before you die.

I'm playing it here right now! Weel, not RIGHT NOW since I'm here posting, but I am playing it, you know what I mean. Go ahead and install it, this game is great!

I finished the Vinci campaign friday, now I'm about to go deep into the Alin campaign. Very curious about the 3rd faction, didn't show up yet and usually the last is the best.

Oh, and it's not all about steampunk: the Vinci faction is 100% steampunk and it's very pleasing to play with. The Alin (also nice to play but not as much imo), on the other hand,

[spoiler:24970d99c0]is all about arabian nights magic: sand, fire, glass, genies, spells and stuff. Very drastic difference, which is what makes me wonder what the hell the 3rd faction will be about.[/spoiler:24970d99c0]

EDIT: Holy mother of Christ! Played with the 3rd faction and --

[spoiler:24970d99c0]long story short, they're Aztecs with lasers  To those who watched Stargate SG-1, Jaffa describes their soldiers nicely.

And these guys are imbalance incarnate (mobile fortress of doom? yes they have it; other factions don't)[/spoiler:24970d99c0]

This is a strange coincidence as I'm playing it right now.

It's worth playing for the unique and very well-made art style of the factions. As has been said above the Vinci alone are awesome Da Vinci designed machines as built with industrial era technology like in steampunk. It's one of a kind.

Also the gameplay is quite good. I'm impressed by its variety and multiple effects of different advancements. I actually wished I noticed this when it was new as I bet the competitive community had a great time playing it.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller
