Hello, everyone.

I'm working on bringing Global Mod to English Fallout fans. Have a quick task for somebody with good graphics editing skills.

I never understood why modders erm.. mod in their own language. I do not mean to be disrespectful in any way to someone else's language or traditions, but games should always be developed in English while keeping localizations as a feature. It is the way major companies do it, and for mods it would attract a lot more attention.

Well, some people just don't speak english very well or at all.
Not everyone learns english in school or can write it well enough to develop a game or mod in it.
 
Trust me, you don't want to play my mod when I write it in english all by myself.

I have played Fallout using an English/Slovak dictionary back in 1998. As you can see, I'm self-educated English speaker, so take your time and feel free to learn the Russian language right the same way. :)
 
Concerning modders using their own native tongues.

When somebody creates something of their own, they have a right to do it in alien freaking language if they want to.

People should appreciate what we got. Modders are rare breed of folks that will bust ass for FREE and won't ask for a dime. So, others can enjoy their work regardless if they have money to buy a new spanking game for 60 bucks or not.

Hi, fellow Wastelanders!

I'm trying to prioritize my Fallout mods localization work. Hence, I have a question for you all.

How interested the community to have an english translation of Global mod?

If it would be working more stable, and would have less bugs than Megamod, and would be compatible with more-or-less up-to-date HiRes patch/Sfall, then of course 1.
 
3. I've never heard of this mod before, due to my limited knowledge of a Russian language. An English translation would be great!
(Hint: Send PM to some of admins, I'm sure they will add a poll in the thread.)
 
A global mod translation would surely be nice... but, right now I would rather play Fallout of Nevada with a proper English translation.

Well I have not played Global mod yet, since it uses original story and content, of which I am rather tired of. Like many others, I have played Fallout 2 many times and bothering with some quest, looting and stealing over again is beyond any excitement for me.

But description on Vault-Tec Labs wiki seems very promising, therefore I am not denying this mod.

If you have skills, will and energy to translate something, help Deus with Fallout of Nevada translation if possible. I have tried to translate it into Czech but when I got into dialogue files there were many lines I had no idea what were they meaning (sure, when you play the game and you don't understand one or two non crucial lines it's okey, but while translating it's very bad), therefore it's translation is beyond my abilities.
