that about what it would cost to get it to the U.S. in one piece
anybody know what that would cost to ship from UK to US? and still have it arrive in good condition.

Beware, that's the U.K. version. Needs a few patches, and still sometimes runs screwy.

Even moreso than the U.S. edition if thst's possible. :P

meh, I still like having the origional box for all of them, instead of the "Greatest Hits" feel of that.

My Fallout w/ box, manual, and worthless advertising inserts arrived in pristine condition. Well, the box has dented corners but no scratches on the cover. The disc is mint, not a single smudge or anything on it. For $21.00 I'm the happiest kid in town.

Patching to v1.1 as I write this, never beat the game, haven't played it in years. HOO WAA!

I figured if anyone would ask about those it would be you King of Creation  . Anyways, it's an insert folded in half like a pamphlet with ads for other interplay games like Carmageddon, Redneck Rampage, Redneck Rampage expansion (Suckin Grits on Route 66...hahaha), Die by the Sword, and on the back Fallout. Its in pristine condition as well. Everything but the box is in perfect condition.

For a game this old, it is a very sweet deal. I would like to find the strategy guides that you found, but I don't want to pay $50.00 for a "new" copy. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for those little beauties.

edit: the quoted price on Amazon for a "new" copy is 49.99 second hand.

Don't bother with Fallout official strategy guides unless you're collecting. I bought them both ages ago and realized that they were terrible. Neither is particularly useful, and the Fallout 2 one was written off of a beta or alpha or something and has things and stuff in it that just aren't in the game at all. To illustrate, on the back of the book the Vault Dweller is shown standing in the inaccessible room on the Enclave...

A bit of gaming trivia: after departing Origin before Ultima got really skullfucked, Chuck "Chuckles" Bueche went to work as the Director of Software Development at Xatrix Entertainment, who developed Redneck Rampage.

I only wanted them for nostalgia value, if I wanted any tips or tricks I would trust Per's guides more than the Fallout official guides. Especially after what you just told me. It would be interesting to see the hints for what wasn't even in the game at all.

That is very interesting indeed. Sad I only ever got to play Ultima Online, after the fact that Ultima got completely screwed, and worse so every following year after it's release. I never got more than two hours into the game in Ultima Ascension. And the bundle of all the older Ultima games never worked on my computer. Except Ultima 1...which I could have coded had I stuck to learning Q Basic
