Squad creation mod

    Hi guys,

    I am after a way to modify the starting squad for Tactics.

    i.e I'd like to start with a human, a mutie, a robot, a dog and deathclaw, and other variations.

    What's the best way to edit this, and name each of the squad members?

    Is there a mod, or can I manually do it with an editor?

    Been searching for days for something like this.

    If you have 1.27 version of FT, your task easily done within several minutes (or hours).

    Use FT Tools for changing existing squad members (i mean Stitch and Farsight in Brahmin Wood) or creating new (all done in Entity Editor), then use Map/Mission Editor to replace/add squad members.

    Name and descriptions are provided through characters.txt file in */core/locale/game path

    I do have 1.27 version of FT, but the FT tools is only 1.26 - is this an issue?

    I've tried looking for all the entities but I can't find any while in FT Tools. I do recall reading somewhere that I need to change the .xyz of a certain filename but can't seem to find the thread with the info.

    Will keep searching but you've pointed me in the right direction, thanks!

    I've extraced all .BOS files, I've followed the directions, and from what I can see I just need to import the campaign.txt on the campaign editor.

    Hi there,

    Couldnt you make the desired characters in the entiy editor, and edit mission 1 in the map editor, and place your new chars at the starting area. You will need to set the player index of your chars to 1 as well, or you wont have control of them.

    Yes, I have finally sorted it out, I was in the wrong directory for extracting the campaign.txt file - or moreso, I misunderstood what I was reading on how to do it under the campaign editor.

    I have all 5 of the characters I want in the game now, and need to just give them some basic gear, sohuld be able to sort that out.

    Now I just need to work out how to remove the "starting" character when you start up a game.

    That's the problem, because you can't prevent game from driving you (player) from choosing/creating your own character.

    But what you really need (as far as I understand) is setting one of your new squad members to be "prefab" character. You can see them when you start new campaign. They are editable as much as any other character. While adding new one may be somewhat more difficult, you could just edit one of existent prefabs.

    Remember, that you still must see this squad member as "main" character - if he dies, game ends. So choose one of your squad members to be "main" accordingly.

    I'll get onto that right now, meanwhile, how exactly do I edit the portrais for all 5 of my squad members?

    With my own custom images that is.

    I've got all the images converted to the correct pixels and format, just need to work out how to attach each photo to each squad members portrait.
