Steam autumn sale is on

Is Skyrim worth it? I was thinking about getting it for 360, but Steam has it for pc for less. How awful is it? Is it worth 7.50?

 

yeah, it's worth 7 dollars. Good for a quick playthrough, I dare say fun.

 

Also, never play one of those Bethesda Open World games on console, that's just asking for a shitty experience.

 

I know, but sometimes I just want to sit on the recliner and dick off. It's a tough call, since Bethesda games I've played before have REQUIRED mods to be enjoyable, so I might be better off with pc, but these are games made for consoles and controllers. I'm torn.

 

Get a HDMI cable and a Wireless Keyboard and mouse if you want to play them on a big tv from your couch.

The dragonborn's motivation: "Hurdurr, I'm a dragonborn."

The only good parts of the main quest are the greybeards (partially) and talking to Parthuurnax.

And don't even get me started on the civil war. Or the guilds, fuck!

Please explain why Skyrim's stroy is not lacking.

 

The story in Skyrim is just typical generic high fantasy fare. That kind of thing has it's place. The problem I have with it is the questing and how strictly linear and grindy they are.

 

i told the people at work i wouldnt buy skyrim until it was under $20-25, well it hit $21 for legendary edition on steam so i got it.

i had 35 on my wallet from infrequent game card purchases so...

i know it is going to be crap game. and i know buying it on steam causes problems with mods, but really the only mods i use are usually levelling or else magic/combat mods, mostly gear ones.

not sure how well the steam version plays with mods, but i know in the past with mod loaders you did not want to get steam version because it prevented some mod systems.

 

Wrong. Alduin is the World-Eater. That is, a manifestation of Akatosh that devours Nirn, the mortal world- and brings upon the next "Kalpa", or cycle of the universe. Furthermore, Alduin is heavily suggested to have been brought into the world early by the Thalmor- the high elves who believe that existence is suffering. By bringing Alduin into the present, the erase any memory of reality from existence and their souls become divines.

Alduin's motivation is not as simple as you incorrectly think. His reason is a full-on assault of the world is simple, a method of bringing about the times when Man was under Dragon. While his purpose is to swallow the world, his intent was to go back to his "good old days" when men weren't so... everywhere.

Why is the Dragonborn stopping him? Gee, maybe that whole "erasure of existence from reality" and "delineation of time" thing. Maybe also because you know, it's a game.

It's kind of annoying how you so brashly talk about something you don't know. I suggest you pay closer attention to the game, and try out the Imperial Library if you want to discuss TES.

 

All I'm really hoping for is a flash sale or daily offer on GTA IV with dlc's.

Other than that, I'm too poor and have enough to do as it is.

 

I didn't like gta 4 much. Red dead redemption is a much better game.

Incorrect. There is zero suggestions in the game that this is the case. There is even evidence in the thalmor embassy that they actually have no idea why alduin has appeared.

Did you even play that infiltration quest? It was all about finding out if the thalmor are behind the dragons. Surprise: You find out they don't.

I sure love hearing Alduin's meticulous arguments in Skyrim.

Nice assumption there. Perhaps I should have put more than just a little effort in my first post, but that says nothing of my knowledge of tes lore, which is not little.

 

Lore of TES works only well at Morrowind.
not because Morrowind's lore is awesome but lore itself was connected with actuall game play(for example: find the reason why Dwemers are dissapeared)
but after oblivion? lore is just decoration for grinding quests. and lore itself is just sucks.
especially dragonborn.
