Surf Solar

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
Here is little series I've made of my photography. (Obviously) They are all edited though. They shall transport the feeling of someone, how finds pictures of a past era after the nuke.

Yes, they are really dark. They are meant to be so.

I also use these pictures as a booklet for my upcoming little PA Soundtrack. (each picture for one song) I hope you enjoy them.

Re: A Collection of "burnt" Pictures.

Very nice! i like these two the best:

They seem to me the best for use in a sort of "epic" story-telling.

a bit overboard, don't you think?

it's got plenty of potential, but you've gone a step too far, i think.

Hm, I actually like it "over the top". ;)
It's a matter of opinion. I like it when you don't see everything on the picture because of the devastation of the picture instead, not to show everything clearly is a thing which I really like.

You should try linoleum prints, and work from photographic transfer (nitro, etc). I think ye'd love the medium.

Interesting. The fake sepia and the same scratches layer on most pictures is a bit embarrassing, tho'

Again, I think you could go a step further from just manipulating the photos with lino prints.

Yep, it's very annoying that I just have one single layer to be used, I don't know where to get more and don't have a scanner to make them by myself.

I'd love to have a really really old camera to make pictures which look by default so, not just manipulate them as you said.

Lino print looks awesome, thank you for the suggestion! I really like it, because it has nothing to do with 0s and 1s , working with a computer, than rather doin' it by hands.

You could get some old second-hand cameras for almost no money, if you look some. Depends on where you live - I'm sure you could get them off eBay or through specific forums where enthusiasts conduct trades and sales.

Attach an old lens with tons of scratches on it and get crackin' !
My gf's camera has some tiny defects on the lens and they look rather "artsy", although every now and then they're rather annoying - but that's not going to be a problem when you want that ;)

Also - experimenting with different ISO films and manual settings you can get either very grainy pictures or very nice and crisp pictures. Maybe you could even get some expires film rolls off the net or from a garage sale - awesome decay effects and fubar colors :)

Thanks ! :) Gee, when I look at them after all that time, I understand the criticism, it's a bit too overboard with the "burnt" style, heh.

Anyway, the first picture was shot in the wilderness of Ireland a couple of years back when I was on vacation there.. The rest are shot either here in Leipzig where I live now (we often would explore some abandonend buildings and take pictures there) , where just photoshops (the fox for example) or some nature-sceneries in the rather rural area where my hometown is. The one which looks like a nuke exploding over the city was shot out of my bathroom window when some bad-weather front arrived. :D

They look great. I especially like this one, reminds me of those commie labs in Siberia, where Soviets experimented with aliens.

Great pictures, I really like them.
Would it be possible to share them in a higher resolution?
I'd actually like some of those as a desktop wallpaper.

Not sure if it fits in here, but since it's my thread, eh. ;)

I was exercising 50'ies styled typography a bit (and also I was bored)

Cool, but the typeface on the bottom is a bit too fat and headliney to be easily read.

Yep, true. I had issues with exactly the ones you described - the bottom one always was unreadable/too small so I added this blueish outline which made it too fat and the headline was a bitch to make it look "wethered" so I ended up with this. Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate when more experienced people give some tips. :)

Meh I will just use this thread as my "art" dump now, no need to create new threads (although I played with the thought to ask other posters to do similar... posters like this):

I was bored and always wanted to try out some Propagandaposter-style. Naturally, I failed. :D The punchline is not strong enough, the text isn't the best and the picture is just... there. Anyway. Maybe you guys want to try out such simple stuff too? Or should I do this in some other thread?

Tried to "rescue" the picture by taking it into some other context, but it's crap aswell...
