You've read about it, heard about it, seen older posters wax philosophical about it but after over a decade in legal hell System Shock 2 is finally getting a re-release to run on modern systems.
Apart from sprucing it up to run on modern OSes it's the original release meaning all them tasty mods will still work.
Released on Valentines Day to, which is kind of unsettling.

    Aaaah, SS2. Good memories.

I probably couldn't replay it today, though, since I couldn't get past the graphics. The progression of technology has spoiled me.

meh, it's not that bad. it wasn't that long since I last played it and after a while you get used to it. to be honest, it's almost a part of the game for me. there are mods to make it a bit prettier too, althouh I haven't tried any of that yet.

and this comes from a guy who's a sucker for pretty graphics.

Already own two copies. One of my all time favorites. Ah.. the memories:

The screams of those female cyborgs, the scuttling sound of running spiders, the voice of shodan...

I have trouble with the dated graphics only for a short time. As aenemic said, you get used to it. After half an hour or so the atmosphere gets you and you forget all about the graphics.

Recommend it for all who do not own it already.
