The biggest difference between FO2 AND FO3

bronzepoem

First time out of the vault
When I saw the game graphic pics in the OXM, the feeling jump into my head. I know the graetest difference bwteen them.
FO2 is like a JAZZ. The main theme is soft and blue. When you play FO2 yourself in midnight, the game will warn you heart. When you quit game and stop laughing at the funny jokes, you may feel a little vicissitudes in your heart. In the world, you traveled Confidently because you know there are new firends in next town.
FO3 is like a R&R. The main theme is cool and sharp. When you play FO3 more, you will feel empty and fear. In this world you traveled tired because you just remember your enemies.
Do you think my forecast will become true?

No. FO3 looks like Techno Music to me - conveyer-made mass entertainment for the stupid. Not the general stupidity though, it's for those who are probably more stupid, but will not believe it.

A friend of mine once stated, that probably the whole world is separated into groups, who think that the other 80% of the world are morons.

Oblivion influence, CNN rather compaires Fallout 3 to Oblvion then saying it looks much like one the predecessors of Fallout (FO1 or FO2)

Much like developer Bethesda's previous hit, Oblivion, Fallout 3 is a big, sprawling role-playing game where your every action influences the events that follow.
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/TECH/ptech/05/30/new.games/index.html

Could be just normal to compare a new game of a game developper with the previous one that company made, but dispite that I think their will be a lot of oblivion influence in the game good & bad influence (f.e. character design = good influence)

Well, I have to admit - Fallout 1&2 feel more....at home. Sure, it's a dangerous, unfriendly place, but it doesn't try to scare you off - quite the opposite. The graphics, now a bit outdated, still manage to keep the charm of this unique, fantastic world.

Fallout 3 on the other hand....it has the Half-Life 2 \ F.E.A.R. \ Call of Cthulu approach. It's more "WAAAAH look out! Little girls with long black hair pop out of nowhere and show you horrible past events IN YOUR MIND!!!" Although post-apocalyptic, Fallout isn't very depressive - there is still some hope and humor in it's world.

So, we have Fallout 1\2's dark, but still colorful world compared to Fallout's 3 empty, depressive urban desert.

I think the deserted military bases is what made Fallout. Remember the first trip to the glow? All those deactivated robots lying around, bodies everywhere.. and the full armory awaiting for you below.

Fallout 2 wasn't very impressive when it comes to music, but I think that tracks like "Follower's credo" or the Sierra army depot music really made the atmosphere. Besides, the bases really seemed dirty, abandoned and forgotten, especially with the lights turned off.

I kinda can't imagine F3 having the same atmosphere, if they decide to include such places. You really would need specific music, specific design and specific graphics to reproduce that. I pretty much doubt the candylike F3 graphics can give such a feel.

What? I understand FEAR and Call of Cthulu, but Half-Life makes it always seem that your enemies are utterly pathetic compared to the raw power of Freeman, and everyone knows it.

Seriously, that game is all about knowing you're some redheaded scientist dude with glasses who kicks heinous amounts of ass with a placid and dissatisfied mug.

I meant that it resembles Half-Life's 2 world, not it's main character or style of gameplay. We have zombies=ghouls, Super Mutants=Combine and BoS=Freedom Fighters.

On the other hand - in Fallout 3 a 19 year old kid kicks ridiculous amount of ass, too. Also, his enemies seem more deadly than those from Half-Life 2 (he\she shreds Super Mutants to bits and vaporizes 3 meters-high Behemots with nuclear canons), so he does resemble Morgan Freeman in some way. Hell, he\she may be even more bad-ass than our crowbar wielding mute scientist.

Another thing - I think DForge has a point. I absolutly love to loot old military bases, it's my favorite part of Fallout. But to say that it *made* Fallout may be too much.

Thats pop music.

Techno is a umbrella term.

Fallout 3 is a lot like Emo music, you hate it, everything it stands for, and everything they did to your favorite genre. However, you will give it a listen until fans of the new stuff embrace everything you despise.

I'm rather skeptical that the so called "Fallout 3" by Bethesda is ever going to have funny elements like the one I've shown above~

It's just not going to be the same~

Freeman kicks ass.

But his hair is brown.
