The easier to clean part was a small reason. My main reason for the FailZero Bolt carrier was the reliability and also, I had found them on clearance on Primary Arms - so instead of paying 180 for it, I only paid $95 bucks. The easier to clean is nice, but I was in the service for ten years, I cleaned bolt carrier groups of all kind. I had two Eotechs. My second one I turned in and got some money. The one I had served me in the sweltering streets of Iraq and the hilly country of Wardak Province Afghanistan. So it was proven itself. The worst fire fight I was in was the sweltering summer of 2011 in Tanji Valley and it was 130 degrees. I never noticed any of my shots not going where they were not supposed to. Of course, I had heard of issues from other people. I always hit paper and only twice in seven years did I ever have to re-zero the weapon. However, I am trying to decide between Aimpoint T2 or Triicon MRO. Like you, I favor red dots over variable magnification due to slight astigmatism which did not go away even though I got PRK back in '09. I forgot to add I have a Seekins Precision Billet magazine release button.
