The godawful music, I half-kid. But seriously, it makes my skin crawl. The only thing I do not like, and I'm hoping isn't a taste of what's to come for the OST. It's the least cyberpunk thing I've ever heard. It sounds more like the background for some car commercial: Drive in style, in the new Luxury CP 2077; a taste of the future. I can think of so many better songs to use instead of this blah pop junk. Why go for contemporary, when you can mine the future cool of the past? Cyberpunk to me, has always been grounded in a world of analog technology, where certain trends from the '70s to '80s managed to continue on into the future.

Be the song itself of what ever quality, it's still far less off the mark than those heavy metal tunes in the Witcher trailers. So maybe CDPR is actually cathing on with with their choices on their trailer tunes.

Have they shown any actual gameplay yet? Cause until then they might as well just have 20 minutes of paint drying for all I care.

They haven't, and apparently won't for a good while still.

Oh... Yay... CGI trailer that doesn't show any gameplay. So hyped. Totes. No rly. Fuck off. For all the praise CD Project Red is getting for all the good they're doing it seems like even they haven't figured out that a CGI trailer that shows fuck all about the gameplay is completely worthless. Is it really that hard for game companies to get through their heads? Is there a law or something that says they have to have a bullshit trailer before they can release proper trailers?

Didn't they recently say they weren't planning on showing anything off at E3? At this rate they'll have to get the grand-daughter of the model to feature in the trailer.
I mean all they showed was a CGI trailer with a hawt wombyn, I don't get all the hype people are giving it. I mean show me the gameplay you're hyped for.

They also released a sort of interview with Mike Pondsmith where he talked about how cool they were trying to make it, so there's that.

And yeah, grounding Cyberpunk in "analogue technology" makes so little sense on so many levels it's not even funny anymore.

Heh, the song in the trailer turned me into a fan of the band first time I heard it.

Well, it does have tits and scantily clad women, features known to be of key importance to CD Projekt's "mature" and "adult" audiences.

Heavy metal goes far better with high fantasy than this does with cyberpunk.

Well, nudity does generally fit in well with their Game of Thrones-ish game series and it's not like robot prostitution is alien to cyberpunk.

It only made sense in the first Witcher as collecting sex cards was a good way of immersing the player in the role of a womanizer. As soon as you put in sex scenes, it just becomes pointless in-game soft porn that might as well have been a fade-out.

Still don't know if you are going to be making your own character in Cyberpunk, but I'm hoping for a more RPG-focused Deus Ex rather than Witcher 2077: Rise of the Cyberpubes.

Case dependent. It didn't fit at all in the Witcher trailers.

Think of cyberpunk stories, how most of them were written during the '70s through '80s. They are often heavily analog based as far as music's concerned. Everything shouldn't be super duper science. That's where the punk comes in, the idea of street people and street fashion. Look at Blade Runner, Nueromancer, and a ton of cyberpunk written during the '80s. They drip with analog cool; very much products of their time, just as noir's a product of theirs. What I'm saying is get something old school like synthpunk or post-punk that uses analog synths and keyboards and other effects. They're a hell of a lot more punk rock sounding than this band, while still being future-minded enough to fit in a science fiction world.

CD Projekt Red has enough of a reputation that I'm optimistic it will turn out fine. The kind of reputation Bethesda used to have but then squandered after they started progressively dumbing down their games to unrecognizable levels.

Cyberpunk could end up totally mediocre and I'd still be happy with it after the crapfest that Fallout 4 gave me.

They're pretty much the anti-Bethesda when it comes to game philosophy. One of the devs even called out Skyrim for being generic/casual and having no memorable characters or immersion IIRC.

I need to see gameplay first before figuring out whether or not I will buy it then or wait until a Steam sale. They could pull a Bethesda and make a shitty game all of a sudden.
I'm not saying it will be bad but there's no gameplay so what is there to be excited about? I agree with Vergil and Fish.

The original creator of Cyberpunk is working with the Witcher devs on a new Cyberpunk game. You can easily be excited and optimistic for that without going out and spending money on it.

I'm not pre-ordering it or anything, but I do think it's going to turn out "acceptable" in the worst case scenario. I am interested to see how they handle the game because with the Witcher they were able to rely on a series of books which gave them a lot of lore and backstory to work with and now they are sort of on their own.

I definitely agree that we don't know much about the game, so it's all a wait and see situation.
