So for a while now, I've been wanting to start my own RPG, in fact, I kind of wanted to do a Fallout Campaign.
I'm in a few RPGs myself (Like DnD and Edge of the Empire) and while I really enjoy, I think that setting up my own RPG and doing my own campaign would help a lot more considering I would like to work in Game Development (More Specifically, making RPGs).
However, due to a number of RPGs already in motion, (and no one else wanting to do a Fallout RPG) I thought this could be the second best place to set one up.

So, I was thinking we could do these on Skype or Google Hangout once a week or something.

Is anyone up for it?

If you do end up setting up a campaign, I'd recommend you try on @Radiosity's reconstructed Fallout 3 campaign, That way you don't have to write an entirely new module and you can try your hand at adapting what seems like a good concept for play.

I wouldn't mind. I don't have a Skype, nor do I know what a Google Hangout is.
Google Hangout is pretty much like Skype, but it uses your Google+ account (we used it for our podcasts).

Depends where you set the RPG, what year what asset .
I was thinking of setting it in the years between Fallout 1&2, and setting it West. But I don't want to stick to California, I want to start off elsewhere and then eventually get to California.

I will have a look through and adapt some of the ideas if I feel I could do an RPG around them (maybe do so at first just to get the hang of it a bit). Cheers, will read up as soon as I can.

Sure, go ahead, I'd be more than happy to see it used for something constructive :)

Ha, I've been thinking about getting NMA to do a homebrew Fallout PnP for a while now :D
Would have been more about technical issues at first, with a full source book as the end result...
I'd be interested.

It looks like we got enough people to start this up.
I'll probably start this up in a few weeks.

To all those that are up for doing this, shall we use Skype or Hangout (or something else?)

From the podcast we have had some negative experiences with Hangout (worked fine for me, though), but I also had negative experiences with Skype (again, works fine for me), so I guess it will always suck for some.
How about Tabletop Simulator?
http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/
It's 20$, but it's a very nice way to simulate a full tabletop for online multiplayer. It's basically a physics-based simulation of, well, a table, where you load in maps, miniatures and so on (including the possibility to ragequit and throw everything off the table [seriously, it has a ragequit/tableflip button already built in]). Now we all learn Blender really quickly and can design our own figurines and surroundings :D

A little less silly video:

Yes, I'd be fine spending 20 bucks on it :D

(It still requires some sort of external communication like Teamspeak).

That sounds pretty sweet.
I don't have much money right now however, but if I get some spare cash laying around this month, I might pick it up.

Bump! So I've been looking into the Fallout PnP RPG and it seems pretty decent. Anyone up for using a system like that?

Sure. I played it before and its easy* to understand for anyone who played the older Fallouts.
But since its basicly a translation of a crpg its very roll-heavy.

* - easy as in easier than exlaining dnd to someone who never played.

What kind of campaign do you plan on runing?

I have something which I'm writing up.
In fact, I'm kind of using you guys as test subjects for something I plan to do later on down the line.
