The first was the best I think. Unforgiven is my #1 Eastwood flick though. While I'm at it: Favorite Eastwood flicks......

    #1 Unforgiven
#2 Man with no Name Trilogy
    #3 Absolute Power
    #4Heartbreak Ridge

And countless more. To be honest it is hard for me to rate my favorite Eastwood movies. I like the vast majority of his flicks minus a few.

I love the spaghetti westerns you mentioned starring Clint Eastwood. My favourite movies have always been Blade Runner, Alien and Groundhog Day.

Groundhog Day is such a great movie...Harold Ramis's masterwork, it is.

I couple days ago on TCM I finally saw Network from 1976 -- an amazing, visionary film.

Eh, I January 13th, especially Friday.
My friend tried to force me into watching Nekromantik yesterday...oh no, he won't.

True, though it's Sutherland's role that made it so awesome.

I just watched Children of the Corn for the first time in years. That movie definitely hasn't aged well. Horror movies always lose me when something horrible happens, but the characters are too fucking stupid to leave. They see that someone is murdered, and the nearby town is completely deserted, yet they continue to search for answers, instead of simply leaving the town. Granted that the movie would be short that way, but at least give them a good reason to stick around.

I'm not sure about the Clint Eastwood's western films, guys. There are some older movies, which are just better in my eyes. Stagecoach (1939, John Ford) for example. Still, Million dollar baby was a pretty good movie.

Also, some tips for a true masterpieces:
    Full Metal Jacket (S. Kubrick)
Cidade de Deus (F. Meirelles, K. Lund)

I'd not say FMJ is a true masterpiece. Yes, it's a good watch and all, but I think they've not really developed some of the characters enough.

[spoiler:9a65e32711]I certainly didn't feel some of the characters' death, they were pretty bland for me[/spoiler:9a65e32711]

I would like to add Leone's Once Upon a Time in America to the list of masterpieces.

But that was so I can say that they're finally releasing the 4 1/2 hour cut of the film! I for one am really excited about this

American Gangster is one of the best crime dramas I have watched in awhile. The music was one of the things that made me dig it. I really believed the setting. It didn't appear too over-the-top or preachy at all. I liked how Denzel's character didn't act like a thug, and generally was a "Moral" guy . The dichotomy between Denzel and Russel was superb. You really understood the characters. It was one of those movies where I rooted for the "bad" guy and the "good" guy. I honestly cared about what happened. My only complaint with the movie was the actress who played Denzel's wife. She was very forgettable to me. She didn't contrast well next to Denzel, if that makes sense. I highly recommend it if you missed it.

I loved AG too. The acting by Denzel Washington was great and the setting was marvelously done. I just disliked the divorce subplot in it.

I know, that is so true! I hate those horrors where they could of escaped but just decided to stay in the place where they could be killed. And on the subject of horrors, I'd like to add The Evil Dead 2, brilliant mix of horror and comedy. The first is also one of the best horrors ever made.
