To patch or not to patch

Just downloaded Fallout3_v1.1.0.35_English_UK. I'm in mid-game at the moment, just after getting into the BOS Citadel for the first time.

Will patching the game now cause my saves to screw up?

Didn't screw up my games at all when I patched

it screwed mine up until I used FOMM to force fallout.esm to load first
