using stealthboy or whatever its called.
But his motivation? It will forever be a mystery.
Obsidian have said Fallout New Vegas will either come with an updated GECK, or it'll be downloadable on release day, i can't remember which. I saw this mentioned in a interview a few weeks ago.
Yeah, publishers seem to ruin this industry... it'd be nice if some developers had enough money to take their time and craft their games.
I've heard much about the problems with Alpha Protocol but, again, never had any issues. Loved Obsidians prior work, so I'm glad they did NV even if it uses the same shitty engine and was watched over by Bethsoft who are terrible at developing games.
Oh, and my Steam ID is the same as my NMA ID, add me up, old son!
Sounds like Reiner's really into the game if he's going through a third time. Also, judging from what other people say about the length, three times has to be a fuck-ton of playtime.
Or maybe it's just more dense instead of long.
Sega postponed the release date to give them more time. From what I remember, the problem more had to do with Sega asking them to incorporate new features at late stages in development.
Ah yes, that's right. They moved the release from Q4 2009 to Q2 2010, right? When I said 'rushed' I should have clarified. Or rather revised. It was more of a cram than simply a time limit restriction. Too many systems, too little time.
and that's twice? nice!
whoa, awexxxome. i play rpgs extremely slowly so this is great to hear. i love a slow burn.
ha! that's what you get, consolefag.
what is this i don't even...(i'm still planning on hardcore mode)
i'm still debating on whether i pick my pre-order up tonight and inevitably get NO sleep, or do the smart thing and sleep, wake up early, go get game, spend entire day with game. either way i'm using a vacation day at work tomorrow.
I told my English professor that I might come down with a sudden case of radiation sickness on Wednesday.
Then I turned in two weeks of future homework.
They just have to port it from Fallout 3.
Then we can finally have ghoulsex in New Vegas, which is what every Fallout fan is dreaming about.
haha, sounds like you guys are getting prepped! i have to go buy some groceries, a.k.a junk food, to live off of for the time being, then await Valve's unlock. luckily those guys are right across the lake from me.
i took off work for "fallout" 3, which ended up being a waste. now i'm an independent contractor so it's all good!
i'd give it a whole day to play instead of fighting sleep. luckily i don't have a choice in the matter.
always a bad idea to make major changes near the end of development. becomes a nightmare to integrate; that's what sequels, patches, and expansions are for.
Why ghoul-sex when we can have robot-sex... mmm, then again, why limit it.
AP's development was a complete mindfuck from the bits you hear about it. I think the most telling thing about it is that Brian Mitsoda opened a indie studio after he left Obsidian.
Also apparently SEGA sat on AP during these whole time and Obsidian didn't work on it during this time.
What I can't make heads or tails of is that this Tim character is having such a bad go of the 360 version, and yet the game informer guy had no problems. I somehow doubt Game Informer played it on anything other than the "lead platform", which as we all know is the 360. Odd, that.
Interesting contrast between Twatter and that first review.
Just a few more days and we'll find out for ourselves.
Probably going for the PC version. Hope they don't screw us like DICE with Bad Company 2 by quietly canceling the mod tools.
Anyway, I applaud Obsidian for even attempting this project and I will withhold judgment until I've played it for myself.
I would take Friday off work (UK release date) except that I've got an important meeting, and a training session. ARSE.
But yeah, watching streams online, the 360 version definately has / had a memory leak, solved simply by restarting the console every couple of hours. Might be a day one patch.
Also... I never expected hardcore mode to be that hard. I figured it was just implementation of "common sense" features that are in games like STALKER. If you've got a world full of food and drink all over the place, that you can consume, then it makes sense to require the player to eat occasionally. And cause there is food everywhere, that isn't a challenge.
well, likely what i'd do (because i think i'm already going to be out with friends for pizza and beer) is stop by Gamestop, pick up my copy...begin the install and pass the fuck out, wake up early and only move to pour more bourbon or piss.
I'm hoping that 'free' food is scarce enough to at least create a money sink of some sort. Hopefully make hoarding caps/dollars/chips a little bit more difficult if I'm spending a minimum of $15 to $20 per day to live.
I only work Fridays and Saturdays so the Friday release date on games is really annoying.
Also have to hope someones around for the posty or else I have to wait till Monday before I can get it.
that is sad considering the 360 is the second worse console (hardware-wise), next to the Wii. this is why we get jacked on the hi-res textures i'm assuming.
boom! that's a great plan!
yeah, i doubt food will be scarce lest the lowest common denominator complains that hardcore mode is too hard... which is probably bethsoft's fault.
I wonder if I will have the same side effects as with F3: Seeing Radscorpions and supermutans everywhere for two days and being so into the game that I cant sleep.
