Fallout 1.5: Resurrection

so what seemes to be the problem? describe what's going on to give us a lead what is wrong..
how are the party NPCs behaving, what sfall are you using? is it Resurrection vanilla 3.7.3 is it sfall-extended/sfall5 from Drobovik's/Pyran's archive or have you updated sfall manually?

actually i never had problems wiith this setting besides one point in sfall history where the function was beginning to be outsourced and the script was fucked up after an update..
If You've updated sfall than i have my suspections of what you did wrong, however I'd like to hear Your story first before pointing fingers at something..
I'm using sfall 4.4.4 (the newest version). My plan is to test the whole game with this latest version of sfall, and if everything goes well (I've already completed all quests in the first two locations, and everything works fine so far), I'll share the configuration (and installation files) with the rest of the community. This will be an unofficial sfall patch for the game.

I tested it 20 minutes ago, and with a vanilla installation and sfall version 3.7.4, the full control mode (Mode=2) works fine. However, with sfall 4.4.4, this mode doesn't work (NPCs are still controlled by the PC's AI). The same configuration works perfectly in @Lexx Fallout Et Tu.

@gustarballs1983 Are you (or anybody else) able to correctly set up full control combat mode for all party members with sfall 4.4.4 in FO 1.5: Resurrection? I'm also attaching both configuration files. I changed the file extensions due to forum upload restrictions.

there's no need i already know where's the problem, only wanted to make sure I was right about my suspicions... you see you've updated sfall and that's the issue..

thing is sfall 3.7.3 is a really dated piece of software, back then the combat control mode=2 was baked into the ddraw.dll itself. on the other hand modern sfalls like the 4.4.4 have this function outsourced to a global script + a setting in sfall-mods.ini and you name it you're missing that global script. I'd like to make sure you also have sfall-mods.ini in your config and all setuped properly, but without gl_partycontrol.int and sfall-mods.int in your global script folder it ain't gonna work..

It would be very nice to replace the fores-loader with sfall functions. (I know, I already asked some weeks ago...)
@NovaRain , are you still working on this?
Thanks.

@gustarballs1983 @fanboy I have found a solution. The Resurrection game folder contains a Resurrection/data/scripts directory. This is different from the Fallout Et Tu game folder, where these files do not exist. After I deleted the entire scripts folder in the Resurrection game folder, the party Combat Control and other features worked fine, just like in Fallout Et Tu (using sfall-modes.ini).

I was more refering to certain features which are managed by fores.exe. Like elevator function and (I think) perks. Since fores.exe is not running on my iPad, I want to use fallout2.exe - but then I miss vital parts of the mod.

gl_partycontrol.int should be part of latest sfall.dat anyway.

Unofficial Fallout 1.5 Resurrection sfall v4.4.4 assembly/build

Hi Everyone, I want to share my latest configuration setup for Fallout 1.5 Resurrection with the community. Due to the author's current inactivity, I have created and tested an sfall configuration using the latest version (4.4.4). I thoroughly tested the entire game with this setup and encountered no issues. My game setup includes the following mods and tools:

Inventory Filter v2.0.4 (quality of life mod)
Fallout2MechanicsMiniRework v1.99.0 (disable this mod if you are playing this TCM for the first time or if you are not an experienced Fallout player)
FO2tweaks v12.21 (please make careful changes to the configuration of these engine tweaks)
Party Orders v1.15 (optional)
Fallout 2 Explorer v1.8 (for testing purposes)
Fallout 1.5 Resurrection HQ music (nice to have)

Download: Latest Release Package (This is a 2 GB zip file, including game + 1 GB of HQ music and approx. 400 savegame slots from my last playthrough). You can also download just the game here (600 MB zip file), without HQ music and my savegames. You will still need files master.dat and critter.dat from your Fallout 2 original copy due to piracy law compliance.

If you don't plan to download my entire Resurrection game folder, here are all the relevant configuration files. After downloading the attached files, simply change the file extension from .txt to .ini.

\Resurrection\config\Books.ini (related to derkus Fallout2MechanicsMiniRework)
\Resurrection\config\Drugs.ini (related to derkus Fallout2MechanicsMiniRework)
\Resurrection\config\Perks.ini (related to derkus Fallout2MechanicsMiniRework)

\Resurrection\mods\F2MechanicsMiniRework.ini
\Resurrection\mods\fo2tweaks.ini
\Resurrection\mods\party_orders.ini
\Resurrection\mods\sfall-mods.ini
\Resurrection\mods\mods_order.txt

\Resurrection\ddraw.ini
\Resurrection\f2_res.ini

In the folder \Resurrection\data\scripts, I removed some scripts that were present in the original release because their functionality is integrated into the latest sfall version. My configuration file ddraw.ini is almost identical to the one used in Fallout et tu. You can compare the files using a text editor like Notepad++ to see my changes. I highly recommend downloading my entire Resurrection game folder, so you will have a ready-to-play game immediately, and you can make any changes to the configuration as you wish.

Feel free to share any tips or ideas!

Not sure if this is true anymore, however due to beeing a member of that said forum, some while back i was trying to login to write a message, and i couldn't, cause the forum said new messages were being disabled too.. if that is still true tough luck getting it done.. :p

@NovaRain @gustarballs1983, while browsing the web, I came across this russian forum and another one where a couple of guys maintain their own build/package and regularly release updates for Fallout 1.5 Resurrection. @NovaRain, I have a quick question: Why are there two parallel versions of sfall, 5.x.x.x and 4.x.x? What's the main difference between them, and what's the history behind it? Thank you for response.

Sfall5.x.x.x and Sfall 4.x.x are two different builds mainained by different ppl...
4.x.x. is maintained by sfall team a.k.a NovaRain Phobos2077 and probably others..
Sfall5.x.x.x is mainained solely by Mr.Stalin. it is a direct continuation of so called Sfall-Extended an sfall fork made by Mr.Stalin.

there are a couple of differences some smaller some bigger, i won't go over them right now as it's too much of a fuss, however they both 4.x.x. and 5.x.x.x have some neat features the other one doesn't have, as for what's the history behind it:
well I don't want to go over another forum shitstorm with this forum Russian users, so you're going to recive the short version:

short version:
Before the Russian-Ukraine war started Mr.Stalin was frequent NMA visitor, and made lots of fallout moding related tools for anyone to use..
However as the war neared.. something.. began to.. change.. within him... long story short... Mr.Stalin went awol copy pasting Russian propaganda machine to the foum, and pulled his stuff from both the forum and github.. turning over to gitflic (a.k.a russian version of github) stating something that no american is allowed to use his programs or something in the lines of.. He was not heard from on NMA since..

there you go.. only facts no poo flinging..

and yes there are folks over at Russia doing same thing You do.. releasing TC mod versions with updated sfall for the simple-minded that don't posess enaugh knowledge on sfall and the game engine itself, to be able to pull such an update by themselves

Hey @Foxx, can you tell me if it's possible to use the original English language UI/dialogue with your Fallout 1.5 Resurrection (Fixed Edition) 3.0 repack? If yes, what should I do to enable it? I haven't installed your repack for 1.5 before. Also, does your version of Fallout 1.5 maybe fixes some of the weird/outdated maps in the original 1.5 that have large dark areas around the map edges at higher resolutions? This is what I'm referring to:

Thanks!

I haven't seen those beeing fixed in any version I've played so far..

I prefer to stick to Developer's Vault add-on version just for the extra stuff

The maps cannot be fixed, the developers did not initially think them through. No one will redo everything again.I don't have English language support yet.

What's that? Got a link?
Why don’t you turn the fog of war on, Violator?

That way you won’t be seeing these “void” tiles all the time, only after throughly exploring a location.
Thanks for the suggestion, sounds like a good half-measure. I might be blind but I don't see that option in the config?

Thanks, looking forward to eng support for 1.5 :salute::salute::salute:

Search _Pyran_'s archive, the link is in footnote of his every post ( you just need to be loged in to see it)

as for fog of war look inside f2_res.ini no bloatware of any kind handles that properly, simply edit the .ini manually

Any chance to get rid off the fores.exe loader?
I looked at this and fores.exe does seem to work on Win98, it just complains when it tries to start a child process on "Fallout2" saying Fallout2.exe is missing... But, you can copy&rename Fallout2 (that's in Resurrection's folder) to Fallout2.exe (so you have Fallout2 and Fallout2.exe in Res folder). Then, if you start the game with fores.exe, it no longer complains and the runtime bytepatches are still applied.

Also, if you want to play on sfall's HRP, get rid of the f2_res.dll, just rename it or move it somewhere else.
