Bush and Blair have both been nominated for the Nobel PEACE Prize, because they drove Saddam away by starting a war.
Helloooo? How can starting a war warrant being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize???

Any comments anyone? This is craziness....

Then again, since this is a crazy world it makes perfect sense.

heheheh... nah... heh...

four horsemen of apoc:
Bush, Blair, Saddam & Ladin

heh

Perhaps they mean peace through superior firepower?

This is the kind of stuff that makes me seriously doubt some people's sanity.

Hm. Didn't they once give the Nobel Prize for Peace to Arafat as well?

He was a terrorist too, once. So in a way, nominating Bush and Blair makes perfect sense.

The Nobel Prize is crap anyway. Who was the guy who refused it? Sartre? If so, he was one smart guy.

They use the nobel peace prize to influens people not to commit war etc. They gave it to I think it was ford when Bush attacked Afghanistan and to arafat so he would be influenced to stop the suicide bombings.

When?..

Arafat did nothing but trying to stop the terrorist actions. The peace prize was given to Arafat for his work towards a peaceful solution to end the war.

Sure, man, sure. Arafat is one nice bloke, eh?

NOT! The guy should have been hanged long ago. He's the devil's son.

Here's an excerpt:

Very few people know that thirty years ago Arafat's Al Fatah had a terrorist arm called Black September which was responsible for the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics, a brutal deed that shocked the world. Still fewer know that in March 1973, Arafat ordered a Black September attack on the Saudi embassy in Sudan, where our Ambassador Cleo Noel, our Deputy Chief of Mission George C. Moore and Belgian diplomat Guy Eid were taken hostage at a reception. They were brutally murdered, said to have been shot in a way that made their deaths especially agonizing.

Now, do you really still believe this mofo deserved a Nobel Prize for Peace? Really, huh?

It's really agonizing to see that so many people still defend this bastard. Learn your history. That way, humanity might just be able to avoid the misery of the past.

Not to mention that he put most of palestinas budget in his own pocket making him I think it was third richest man on earth.

[sarcastic]This was not a war, this was a preemptive peacekeeping strike[/sarcastic]

Hopefully this will once again make half the Nobel Prize jury give in their resignations...

Well, Blade Runner, you have to realise that when the peace prize was given to him before they realised that he was in fact a terrorist. I remember that a few years back everyone thought that Arafat was the big hero.

Hm. I should look into that, but I seriously doubt that this knowledge is as new as you make it sound. I remember hearing about his terrorist past when I was still in school and that's like... a long time ago. Al Fatah has always been regarded as a somewhat doubtful organization with extremist/fundamentalist ties. I think the actual "proof" might be more recent, but you shouldn't quote me on that. No time to dig into it now, though. Tired. :tired:

Nobel prize to George Bullshit and Blair? :badmood:

I read the news and they are only mentioning the nominates. Maybe they were nominated because they destroyed saddens md.

Hm. Tired as hell, true, but the insomnia has kicked in, so I did some Google searches and found some stuff about good old Arafat. Al Fatah, PLO, PA, ... this guy has an extensive record of being a terrorist practically since he learned to walk. It's his past with the PLO that was talked about in my school.

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/world/WorldNewsTonight/profile_arafat.html

A small excerpt:

In 1956 he founded Al Fatah, an underground terrorist organization. At first Al Fatah was ignored by larger Arab nations such as Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, which had formed their own group — the Palestine Liberation Organization.

It wasn't until the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, when the Arabs lost the Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and West Bank, that Arab nations turned to Arafat. In 1968 he became the leader of the PLO.

For two decades the PLO launched bloody attacks on Israel, and Arafat gained a reputation as a ruthless terrorist.

There's even this site that sums it up nicely (stupid jingle, though, turn off your speakers):

http://www.masada2000.org/arafat-plo.html

Okay, so this site is a bit harsh, but I'm not a Jew and this is the stuff my history teacher talked about in the early nineties. I don't think anyone would make up stuff like this, you know.

[sarcastic]Him not only blowz up uz Jewz but touch kiddys aswell! Arafut BAD![/sarcastic]

Anyone can get nominated for a Peace Prize, it's another thing to win it. Arafat got the prize together with Rabin because of the efforts towards peace that later proved as futile as all other efforts towards peace have been in Israel/Palestine. Arafat may not be a saint, but I don't believe that's a prerequisite for winning the prize.

You know, in the past Henry Kissinger has gotten the Nobel Peace price.

The insanity has started a loooooooooong time ago...
