Kahgan was lurking around in the top level, throwing out flares here and there to get a better sight.
"Wops" it came from him when he stumbled in some cables, this caused him to fall on an old computer that bursted open and a BIG spider crawled out. "HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT!" he shouted the moment before he emptied the r4est of his clip in it. "I hate spiders, hate, hate, HATE!" "Fuck! I*m out of 9 mm..."

He looked over at Greg who had been quite near him at the event, he took another gulp of nuka cola. "You sure drink a lot of nuka cola." Kahgan said.
"It tastes good!" He replied.

Rob had his assault rifle at the ready as he slowly walked through the underground level.

"Shit am i gonna be pissed if we dont find anything down here...."said Rob as continued walking.

Kahgan and Greg walked slowly ahead in the first floor. Greg took yet another gulp of his Nuka cola bottle. He emptied it. He looked in his bag and said:"Damnit, I'm out of Nuka cola."

Kahgan walked a few metres ahead, throwing out flares. He found a room. Greg grabbed his shotgun and followed Kahgan inside the room. They got in, but didn't find anything. Until Greg spotted a refrigeator.

"Yipee, maybe they have Nuka cola here!" Greg said.
He opened it and found three bottles of Nuka cola and put it in his bag, he also found some meat. He took a few slices of the meat with him, and gave the rest of it to Kahgan, Kahgan also found a water canteen, wich he took a long, thirsty gulp of before it was emptied.

Arco, Jack, and Miles continued to walk down the long hall until they reached a door. Engraved above the door was the writing “Welcome to site 4256: Record and Nuclear Waste Storage Facility.” Beyond the door appeared to be security checkpoint and the administrative offices for the site. In order to get into that area, a card key was required. The group could go no further with finding a way into that area and the current hall wall ended at the door to that area.

“Jack, did that body you found have any card keys?”

“No. why?”asked Jack

Why the hell do you think dumb fuck? So we can open the damn door.

Jack tried as best he could to ignore the hot headed captain and continued to scan the room. As he did he noticed something sticking out of a crevasse in the wall. He walked closer and closer as Arco and Miles were discussing the possibility of blasting open the door. Of course the doors and walls were made out of at least 6 inch think solid steel and the windows into the room were bullet proof glass and they also ran the risks of activating any security measures that may be installed. Jack grabbed on to what appeared to be a handle and pulled the object out. It was a large fusion battery, much larger than the ones commonly encountered in the wastes.

“Captain, come take a look at this.” called Jack

“Well, I’ll be damned, an old fusion battery. Is it still charged?”

Jack looked over the battery and found that it was still charged, not to full capacity but it was charged.

“Yes it is still charged. I think I can hook it into the elevator and get everyone else down here,” replied Jack

“Fine, do it.”

The three men walked back down the hallway to the elevator. Jack popped open a panel to the side and began his work. A half an hour later, Jack emerged from the access point.

“Okay we should be able to run the elevator three times at half capacity, or twice at maximum,” said Jack.

“Fine.”

Arco called up to the others “Anyone else who is coming down can do so now.”

Kahgan heard what Arco said and said to Greg: "C'mon, lets go down there." Greg replied: "Okay, just need another gulp of nuka cola"

Ass they rushed across the floor, Kahgan accidently kicked one of the flares wich rolled over to a corner, revealing two super stim packs. "Hot damn! I feel lucky now...hope I don't need them down here though, culd use'em against the muties."

They got down the elevator along with Fenix and rosco, and reported in to Arco.

As the group headed back up the hallway to door, Miles noticed something on the floor underneath the lighting fixture. It was a small plastic card key with the lettering “A1” printed on the front side.

“Maybe this will work on the door,” said miles.

“It’s worth a try,” replied Jack

Miles slid the card in the access port……………… *click* a green light flashed an electronic voice said “Welcome staff member………………................................
Processing records……............................................................................................
You are approved for access. A reminder: Please pick up your new level 2 and level 3 access cards from the administrator before proceeding any farther.”

The large metal door than stung inward and the group entered what appeared to be the central offices for the site. There was a large central room with walls lined with offices. Most were for high ranking officers who worked at the site. The two doors at the end of the room drew the most attention though. All of the other doors in the room had windows, but these two lacked any at all. Inscribed on one door was Dr. Fredrick K. Symnol, P.H.D, Site Administrator and the other door said General Mark Dawnway, Site Director. Apparently these were the offices of the Military and Scientific heads. As Arco’s eyes scanned the room he came across two other points of interest.

The first was a personnel roster for the site. Originally this site had carried about 250 people, 120 solders, 30 administrative personnel, and about 100 scientists. Arco was surprised that a storage site such as this had such a large compliment of scientists but he dismissed it as an unusual prewar setup. The second point of interest was a map of the layout of this floor. The north portion served as quarters for the administrative and scientific members, and the southern part was used by the military for housing and weapon storage. The site had a complete armory in fact.

The Eastern portion was where they were standing now and the western half was the real point of interest here. It housed the controls to the power which came from a geothermal source meaning it may be possible to bring it back online.

“Okay, we are going to split up. I am going to check out this area. Jack will go down and take a look at the power controls. The rest of you are free to check out the rest of this level as you see fit but I do want you to check out the whole level. If you get yourselves into trouble, deal with it. I’m not coming to rescue like some fool knight in armor.”

Rob looked back at the elevator as Kahgan and greg went down,Rob waited paitently for the elevator to rise up to level 1.

*Ding*Rob walked into the elevator and went down to level 2,he then walked into the main office where everyone had split up,Rob decided to take a look around too.

As soon as Arco had finished speaking Fenix set off towards the scientific section of the facility with Rosco at his side. They passed under many flickering lights and down spooky corridors. Every ten feet they would enter another laboratory and find all manner of hi tech equipment. In one room he found a massive laser set up facing a foot thick steel plate. A low whistle escaped his lips as he realized it potential power. He flipped through a manual lying on a table behind a thick glass shield wall. Rosco whimpered with excitement that he sense brimming from Fenix as it dawned on the man that he would get a serious bonus when he gave this tech over to the brotherhood. Fenix was all but dancing with Joy when Rosco bristled and growled quietly at the door. Fenix began to turn and raise his weapon, but it was too late as the shadow leapt........

Miles started his recon of the level carefully. The carbine always pointed forward as he walked down the corridors. Passing threw a lab he stopped to let his eyes adjust before moving on. Scanning the next room carefully Miles stepped out and continued towards the science section of the facility, hoping to pass threw it quickly and reach the armory and other areas of interest to him. Stopping suddenly Miles whipped around bringing the carbine up..Nothing but darkness but he had heard something.

"Arco. This is Miles I am preceding threw the science section I have heard several suspicious sounds. Miles out"Steeling himself Miles advanced carefully.

Jack crept down the corrider, with his Colt .45 at the ready in his hands.
'The map said the generator should be thru this door.'
Jack coverd the distance slowley, the creepyness of a dead facility so similar to home putting him on edge.
As he enterd the room, Jack found nothing but a geothermal generator.
Just then, he heard Miles report over the radio.
"Sir, this is Jack. Im in the generator room. It's clear. Im going to secure the door and attempt to bring the generator back online."
Jack cset the radio on a workbench, finding a multitool sitting there, and engaged the lock on the door.
'Now to see if I can repair the generator.'

As Kahgan and Greg moved around on the second floor Kahgan suddenly cried out loud:"AHH....A monster spider!" and pointed at a hole in a box. Greg replied: "Hit it, hit it!" The spider slowly walked into the box again, with Kahgan right behind, hitting the box trying to smash the spider. Kahgan tried to open the box. "Damnit, it's locked!" He said, while Greg took a gulp of Nuka Cola.

EDIT:
Sorry about that misunderstanding of mine.

Although Fenix was helpless against the leaping menace Rosco leapt furiously into the air and came tumbling down in a ball of fur and fangs. Eyes aglow Rosco snapped the shadow's neck with a sickening crack of sinew followed by dead silence.

At a loss for words the only thing that Fenix could think to say was "Good dog."

Long seconds passed before the man regained his composure and went to look at the thing that had leapt at him.

A furry mutated rat with six inch long claws and disease ridden parasites on it stared back at him with dead eyes. Shivers ran through Fenix as he viewed the horribly mutated beast.

Rosco gave a quick whimper and Fenix scratched behind his ears after feeding him a strip of brahmin jerky.

"Commander Arco this is Fenix reporting. I have found a large weapon energy weapon that can be salvaged by our scribes if claimed. Furthermore I report a possible infestation of mutated rats. Over."

At hearing that there were giant rats Jack checked the room for any holes, but didnt find any way for anything to get in, other than the locked door.
After the check, Jack returned to work on the generator.

The old generator sputterd to life.
[] Major, main generator is back online. But from the look of this setup we need to access a main computer to bring power back online. []

Arco was finishing up his search of the offices at the front of level two. Thus far it had revealed nothing of interest. The offices were filled with worthless paperwork covering the histories of the personnel. There was nothing to indicate any involvement with the FEV virus or the research that was conducted using that virus. He had checked over all of the offices except for the site director’s and site administrator’s. The other offices were neatly organized and if it wasn’t for the layer of dust, one might not be able to tell that this place had been abandoned for nearly 90 years. The director’s looked like it had seen the wrath of Khan and a thousand storms. The desk was overturned and various files were scattered around the room. There were also some 9 mm and shotgun shell casings and three large red stains across the walls. Whatever had happened here was now forgotten and lost.

His search of this office again proved fruitless. The only useful items he found in the entire room were contained in a gun case in the back most corner of the room. It contained a laser pistol, two small SMGs, and an assault rifle that were all of no use to him with his plasma rifle. Perhaps the others in the group could use them. In any case, that up to them as Arco wasn’t here to play babysitter. Arco moved on to the final office belonging to the administrator. As he opened to the door, a foul and vile stench hit his nose. When walked in he found that the administrator had shot himself. That was not the source through. The smell was coming from the nests in the room. There was a rat’s den in the far most corner by the administrator’s slumped over body and some kind of insect cocoon enveloping the remains of the once living administrator. This cocoon appeared to have been made of paper and some sort of organic holding substance. The creatures that inhabited these nest were no where in sight

Arco walked through the room and to its only remaining piece of furniture other than the desk and the administrator’s chair, a tall locker in the eastern corner of the room. As he passed by the desk he heard a light hum and as he stepped closer to the locker it got louder. It was coming from the cocoon. As he looked over the whole thing, the body with included, began to rise. The hum grew louder and the arms outstretched in Arco’s direction. He raised his rifle, fired twice, and then only silence. Arco wasn’t entirely what the hell had just happened but it appeared that the insects with in the cocoon had taken control of the encased body. Arco dismissed the events at hand for the moment and jerked open the locker to find it surprisingly empty. There were a few keys cards for level 2 and 3 and a notepad.

Written rather coarsely in the notepad was this: “If you are reading this now, we have failed in our attempts to suppress the evils that we have committed here. All that you need to know is stored in file number 23-67-89 and in on the main computer under the name Vladimir. The password for the main computer is G6*HJ90. May you sail safer than those of us who died here.” In left hand lower corner page was the date Dec. 19, 2083. After Arco finished he took the notebook and the pass cards and called the others to let them know he was done with his search and would be proceeding to level three shortly. As he turned to leave he noticed something strange, a large hole in the floor behind the administrator desk.

Rob slowly walked into the admins office as he noticed Arco going through files and searching for something that would help them.

Arco quickly turned around and raised his plasma rifle at Rob.

"Hey.........its me dont worry"said Rob as he walked in.

"sorry bout that Rob......."said Arco

Rob walked over to the weapons case and noticed the M16 hanging there idly,Rob replaced his current assualt rifle with the M16 both the rifles used the same ammo type which helped alot.

Rob placed his new M16 over his shoulder and went over to help Arco.

"Arco this is Miles, I have secured the lift that leads to level 3 its down threw the science section, watch for rats about twelve of those bastards tried to have me for a noonday snack" Coughing Miles slumped back against the wall, his carbine still smoking from the recent fight.

A dozen of the mutated rats lay in the hallway shellcasings on the floor all around the bodys. Reloading the carbine wearily Miles glanced around and tossed down one of the flares he had found onto the ground in the hallway to help mark the path.

As Fenix walked down the dark corridors he began to wish he had a real gun instead of a laser weapon. He desired the solid thud heard when a mushrooming bullet collided with an unarmored opponent. Laser weapons did damage and all, but they really didn't transfer any solid kinetic energy to stop a charging psycho..............or a leaping rat thing.

"Rosco, just stay ready boy I don't want any rats giving me rabies."

The husky whimpered his quiet understanding.

Turning into another room Fenix was greeted by a sight that almost brough tears to his eyes.

A firing ranges with a large steel plate at the back was set up so that a futuristic looking belt fed machinegun was pointed down range.

Fenix was careful approaching the weapon seeing as a rat could be ready somewhere.

The weapon looked like a carbine mix between an M249 and an M60. It was very short, infact only a good 10 inches longer than his laser pistol. Suprise crossed Fenix's face when he realised it was chambered in .22 longrifle, a calibre not exactly known for stopping power. Never one to look into the mouth of a gift horse he set himself behind the gun and did a quick check of it. It had a very stiff firing mechanism designed for a highrate of fire, and a barrel filled with with a cooling agent according to a biohazard sign on the side of the weapon.

After a quick minute He decided he would fire it at an old target set up down range.

A puzzled expression crossed his face when he saw the tab that could set the gun to fire in two shot or ten shot bursts and full auto. "O well" thought Fenix as he opened fire full auto downrange.

A flurry of shells wailed into the target and tore it to shreds in under two seconds. With a low whistle of appreciation he picked up the weapon and set it to two shot bursts to conserve bullets.

A quick look into a locker awarded him with a cleaning kit and a manual for the experimental weapon. Also a familiar green ammunition box held 3 rows of ammo divided by thin cardboard. A torn piece of paper read 1000 each And of the rows they were all already painstakingly placed in cloth ammo belts and marked with red, blue, and green bands. It was easy to guess that the red were AP and the green were JHP, but the green had an unknown use, but were similar to the ones hanging in the belt already loaded in the weapon so he liked them.

Holstering his weapon Fenix Told Rosco to take point again while he shouldered the new gun and readied himself for the worst as he went down the next hall.....................

Kahgan and Greg were still scavenging around and looked into room after room, but they didn't find anything usefull. Untill the last room they looked in, there was a locker at the end of the wall, and to the side of it, there was an ammo crate. Kahgan looked in the locker while Greg bursted open the ammo crate.
"Oh my" Kahgan said when he looked into the locker "What?" Greg asked. "Check this out" Kahgan said as he turned around with a nasty looking Laser rifle.
"Shit! that's one mean looking gun, can I have a look at it" Kahgan handed it to Greg, but Greg seemed disapointed "Its broken man" He said after a while. "Look, these wires here are gnawed over, and the barrel is stuffed with something that looks like...shit..?"
"Damnit! Well, I'll keep it anyway, maybe some of the BOS techs can look at it, or maybe that guy Jack. Hmm, gnawed over, you say, I'm gonna have a closer look in that locker"
Greg turned back to the ammo crate and rumbled around in that. Then Kahgan saw that there was a big hole in the wall, even through the locker, He shoved the locker brutally aside sayng: "Whoever bastard rat ate on that laser rifle is gonna pay" He took a flare and threw it in the hole. it fell a pretty long way, but it stopped somewhere, and he herd a "squeeck"
"Hey, Kahgan, look, I found some grenades, frag ones"
"Gimme that" Kahgan said and took one of them, took out the splint and threw the grenade down. They quickly got away from the hole and there was a big bang sound, followed by flames and fragmentations of stone, concrete and metal sprouting from the hole. Kahgan was kind of stisfied. Greg had found some ammo for his guns, and 8 micro fusion cells. He gave it to Kahgan in exchange for a super stim pack.
