Job openings in NYC?

hey anyone know of any job openings in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Staten Island? The semester is almost done and i need something to keep myself from ending up in AA. Thanks.

Dude...are you serious? You're almost graduating and you're just starting to think of a job now? And in NY of all places? Well, I can't predict anything for you, but be sure that you're gonna have some tough competition; people who have been networking and interviewing for a long time.

But I'm speaking about this from my personal standpoint. I'm really not sure what type of degree you have (and from where) or what type of job you're looking for. Let's start with that.

EDIT: Oh wait, I might have jumped to the conclusion that you're graduating.

Best of luck finding affordable housing.

I live in CT and get job offers to work in the city, but they're always contract work - I need benefits...

@KQX: Are you going back to Tokyo this summer?

My girlfriend got a job there a few weeks ago so it seems theres still hope. If you're still a student by then, look at university message boards outside of the US. Seems like they put up ads everywhere. And they hire via phone ;)

If anyone got info on affordable housing I'll gladly take a look at it.

I’m finishing my 2nd year at Pace University and eventually I want to go to law school. My major is Management but I might change it to Marketing soon. I’m on the COOP looking for internships and all that fun stuff. I just made this forum because you never know where you can find a good connection. So basically I want something for the summer to get some pocket money and experience. Perhaps this summer is the last one I can have a fun bullshit job.

If anyone got info on affordable housing I'll gladly take a look at it.

Where in the NY area and define affordable.

As close to 135 W 27th Street, 10th floor as possible. With a maximum of $1000/month. A sad equation, I know.

I hear that McDonalds and Wendy's hire new people continuously.

What's wrong with AA?

Why is it that everytime I hear words like "networking", "management" and "marketing", I get sick to the stomach? Why can't I cope with the yuppie language? Is it something genetic or simply common sense? Why do I feel like punching such people in the eye? Why do they make me wake up in the middle of the night in a pool of my own sweat?

Dial a cliché, young one, dial a cliché.
Infinite economic growth is impossible in a finite world.
The organisation must change continuously.
Get me an external consultant so he can verify the mess we're in.
For the right price.
Fooling people is easy.

Pause.

Well. I wouldn't say no about having someone to sell my paintings, find me jobs, talk with arrogant gallery owners, organize exhibitions or run a gallery themselves.

It takes different sorts to make a world, Werner.

Hmm well could it be because almost ever aspect of your life is controlled by some “yuppie” CEO somewhere who thinks of you as a number? That use to scare the shit out of me but if you can’t beat them… I got over my anti-establishment phase a while ago.

Haha, totaly agree

Drunky, an internship would be good choice for you this summer, especially if you think you're going to seriously focus on marketing. Many marketing/advertising companies will make you start of as an intern even if you have a degree so if you can get that experience done before you graduate you'll be ahead of the game. Not to mention that it will give you a nice background and connections. Still, there's a lot of interest in the industry and you should be prepared for rejections. One good thing about these companies is that they hire on a need basis so positions might pop up at any time (unlike financial firms and investment banks which have a more stricter recruiting period).

At this point it doesn't seem likely, but then again it's not impossible. This summer is going to be a little harder to predict. Your plans?
