Lessons learned from New Reno?

Constantly after work I've tried to hunt down Fallout 2 in particular, with no luck.

If you can't find the trilogy pack anywhere (Chris Taylor said that it's selling so well that they're printing new copies because of the high demand), you can always use GoG.com.

Ehm, it didn't. Every town throughout Fallout and Fallout 2 have different styles of authority, some don't at all.

That's what I meant by local government, Most towns hold some form of law, though not advanced if you commit an act against the people in a majority of settlements, the townsfolk tend to have rules, which would normally be broken often.

Don't take my word for it, look at the sales charts.

Regardless, finding Fallout in my area on the drive home(Which covers A mountain to 2 small connected cities, giving me plenty of room to look) However from Electronics sections in department store, to the most obscure little shop in a very obscure strip mall. While I don't go on these searches every day, but every other day. Many people I know who've played Fallout 3 had just discovered the series, or had been introduced by myself.

Just yesterday I took a look, aside from Fallout 3, there was nothing in relation to be seen, even the more obscure, smaller rack distanced from the top sellers, which held Mahjong and Roulette for $10 and other such games(The fallout 1 & 2 Jewel case used to be there, it suddenly disappeared, I later Learned to be out of production) nothing. I don't doubt it's out there, I just can't find it.

You can always buy the trilogy pack in an online store, or just buy a downloadable, DRM-free version at GOG.com.

I'm sorry I just have to comment, again.
First of all: ALL FALLOUT 1-Tactics ARE DRM FREE.
All old games are DRM free.

Secondly: Any day I'd choose the real game in my hands, on a CD that I know I will still have even if the company goes bancrupt than downloading some "code".

;P

I mean the fact that games from GOG is DRM-free as opposed to some other direct download services, like GameTap. The GameTap version of Fallout 1 and 2 actually comes with DRM.

You can burn the GOG version on a CD without any problems.

How did the locations in Fallout 3 not make sense or fit into the world?

Conceptually a few of them did fit the world quite well. Megaton, if you ignore the bomb thing, is just Junktown, and Rivet City's still a pretty sweet concept.

How did they not make sense? You kiddin' me? Ok, please explain to me how any one settlement in Fallout 3 survives. What do they eat? What do they do to produce stuff to trade? How do they trade at all? Any one location will do, 'cept Raven Rock and the Vaults since they have their own logic.

I think using the NCR-run Hoover Dam from Van Buren would be a good thing, even if not as an actual location (although it is quite close to Vegas), then as a major faction with its stakes in New Vegas. Hoover Dam's government would be a good contrast to a (likely) mob-run Vegas, and it would be interesting to see what the relations between the two towns are.

OMG, I'm already sold on New Vegas, but if the NCR made and appearance I would be....very happy.

Well, the concept of people in a post-apoc environment actually expending humongous amounts of energy to construct an elaborate settlement out of huge metal parts (how the hell did they move them?) almost within sight of a standing multi-story reinforced concrete school building makes absolutely no sense to me.

Also, using a jet engine to open the door? That one is stupid beyond belief if you take the time to think about it.
