So, the trailer is set between Mad Max and Mad Max 2?

Mad Max never pulls out his sawed-off shotgun except in most dire circumstances.

No gameplay... Akin to Just Cause? Anyone played that?

No Mel, apparently.

So, this is set in the "retconned" version of Mad Max, where there was nuclear war? (I'm a bit puzzled by the crashed zeppelin).

Artistic touches most likely, what makes it look like a post nuclear setting ?

Okay, you're right about Mel.


I'm still not sure about this, though. From what I've read about Just Cause, that's a very action packed game.

Max is a drifter mostly, and is generally trying to stay out of trouble. He's seen action, of course, but I'm not sure how all that will fit into a video game, and still be 'logical' within the already established 'canon' (that word is getting really boring).
 
So what was supposed to have wrecked the world in the mad max world besides nuclear war?

Also, this will obviously be another action game following the same
trend as any in the genre. Maybe it'll have an open world gimmick,
maybe it'll have a survival gimmick, maybe both, but in the end it's
about a gruff white man shooting people, in the most likely case.
Or did Just Cause have anything interesting, quest, character or story
wise?

Nope. The mechanics/sandbox/gameplay entertainment value was immense though. It's kind of like GTA with a twist.

I agree.. But the same goes for most new games. The only new game i have had my eyes on is the last of us on PS3.. And i don't have a PS3 :evil:
 
I'd bet my testicle that there's even bullet-time in this consolitis infected stuff, according to the screenshots. What's a target audience, 12-14? :?
