Fallout 2 mod Megamod version 2.47 Bug Reports and Suggestions

I can't look at the files now (not for several weeks), but you may be able to figure it out or someone here can tell you exactly. Delete the movie file in the data folder. Then the default one will play.
More like several months (if not half a year eventually) it seems given the silence... :sad:
 
Had huge issues installing this mod. took me 6 hours to get it working.
use [add] F2 Megamod US HD [v2.47.6].exe in a fresh install
Fallout2 MM version 2.47.8 - is BROKEN. You will crash as soon as you enter the temple.
Fallout2 Megamod 2.47.9 = is also BROKEN. You will crash as soon as you enter the temple.
Both these versions are also missing the appearance mod on character creation. and seem to have a host of other issues. Dunno if MIB88 is ever coming back. would be great if someone can fix 2.47.9. or hunt down all the breadcrumbs for all the needed fixes. from v2.47.6. Dunno if there is a Stable release? I missed but could not get either 2.47.8 or 2.47.9 to work correctly.

Seems tough to fix because its a real rats nest, I cant imagine trying to crawl through and fix errors.

But its also a lot of work Mib88 has put into it !
It would be a shame, if he leaves completely, should at least find someone to continue his work
(like with killaps RP)

But the main question is: can someone (definitely) say, which is / was the most stable version so far ???
Perhaps 2.47.1 ?
(some say even the V2.46 was the best so far)

Perhaps 2.47.1 ?
(some say even the V2.46 was the best so far)

I dont know why he does not have a public git for the project. would make issue tracking and releases much easier. at least for the code.
 
After some years not playing the mod i installed this (several times) today. The game gets stuck at intro screen, in the interplay logo, animation. Is there any way to fix this, or at least bypass the intro?

other than that the SFall configuration has a skip intro thing.

I get this error/CTD when checking inventories or scrolling thru them or checking containers or bodies. dunno if it is from some script that randomizes items or checks a loot pool and pulls up some item that is bugged or a issue with the inventories themselves. seems random so i think its a bugged item from a loot table or something.
 
As I read it here all,the time:
DONT USE C:/PROGRAM FILES/xy !!!! for installing !
(if you use Win10+)
Use any other folder !
C:/Fallout 2
f.e.
 
I'm here. I don't have access to any of my files, though. Not yet. Hopefully by the end of October.
That said, the most stable version is the last one I released. Me. I never made an installer version. The one who made the installer version has been MIA even longer than me. I don't know what all he did with it. Nor can I tell you that my versions will work with his. The last one I created was not a full repack. It needs to be added to the last version I made... not the last installer version. I don't know what that would do if you just add it on top of the last installer version. My guess is that it wouldn't work. And, it was also based off my machine, so it may require some tinkering in the sfall settings to get it to work on different setups.

Was able to get it working with a fresh install of fallout 2.
Then Fallout2 MM version 2.47.8
Then Fallout2 Megamod 2.47.9
You lose the appearance mod and the Sfall configuration tool. Which is a really nice QoL. I also think maybe the installer had a later version of Sfall as well? you also lose the nice inventory filter, and I think the thing that lets you swap between companions while in barter or containers?
Hopefully someone can comment on how to add the appearance mod, and maybe update the Sfall or post a version with those updated and add those nice QoL features. They really tied the room together.
Any chance you will open a git for the mod? would make it easier to track changes etc.
 
Guys after 3 years i came back to fallout 2 megamod. I'm building a sniping character so can u guys give me some advice for this build. Like weapons tier list in mid and late game pls. Glad MIBB still working on his mod. And ty MIBB
