    Wear this before watching:

Holy shit. And this is why stock assets are evil.

It's a shame really, because he really looks like he's trying, it's just that well, Fallout 4 really isn't the best way to go, due to its already pointed out flaws.

All that efforts, wasted on modding this piece of only-4-dialogue-options-and-hard-coded-cutscenes shit *sigh*

Pretty cool. Though why you would want to recreate New Vegas in Fallout 4 is beyond me.

So, how hard it is to implement a 64bit patch to the original FNV?

Yeah, would much rather he put all that effort in work in just remaking the game in a different engine. But than again legal issues and all the assets needing to be made would be rather hard. It is more feasible to do it the way he is doing, but it's just not going to be right with the atrocious leveling and dialogue system. If those two things weren't hard coded a remake could really be pulled off. Still if it gets finished I will play it. Best hope is Bethesda will learn something from players trying to remake New Vegas and not fallout 3, but I doubt it.

Impossible without a source code release from Bethesda/Obsidian.
Now go and petition the source code from them. :ok:

Besides the fact that it is a work in progress and the rendering it does not look that bad. Not that i would ever try it since i got NV but still.

I don't really see the problem besides the lack of LOD optimization. Looks pretty cool, actually. Fallout 4's engine does look a lot better than old Gamebryo, no doubt about. Too bad it appears to have some hardcoded bullshit in it...
Somebody should go and make this in CryEngine.

Doesn't FoNV already has a ton of HD mods ?

Yeah, but there are certain limits to what you can do. You don't have access to any DX1x rendering, which limits your graphical effects to some degree as you can do only so much by slapping ENBSeries on it. The engine is not optimized for higher poly counts and high res textures, the animation system is obsolete, and so on.
I mean, sure, you can go all FakeFactory and Cinematic Mod the shit out of New Vegas, but in the end it will run like arse because the engine is not made for that kind of stuff. The Source Engine at least got some major rendering upgrades in 2007 and is a very efficient and expandable engine to begin with, but it still looks worse than Crysis. Anything you do to Bethesda's branch of Gamebryo will always just be smearing a thin layer of gold on a steaming turd.

But what would be the point of making it in the CryEngine ? It quite alot of work. Can't we just make something new ?

You think it's easier to make a new engine than to use an existing, very adaptable and highly optimized engine? Huh.
CryEngine just came to mind because I've been playing Crysis recently. Any modern engine would do, really, if it's new enough.

    Somewhat yes, you do.
"It’s important to note that Sir_Bumfrey’s goal is not to recreate Fallout: New Vegas in Fallout 4 to make a kind of remake. What this modder seeks is to take the locations of the game to create new missions; However, he does not rule out using some of the quests developed by Obsidian to make it a more fun experience."

So it is not a "FNV remake", instead, it is more like a new FO4 map "inspired" by FNV. All missions and NPC would be new stuff.........

Damn, then it seems I can only get an official 64bit FNV remake.....in my dream ><

I say, if you want to play Fallout New Vegas go and play Fallout New Vegas.
But I also say, bashing a modder just because it is remaking the map of FNV on FO4 on his/her spare time for free just make people sound angry for absolutely no reason. Makes me think some people just run out of stuff to complain about FO4. :falloutonline:

The stock assets from Fallout 4 are just unfitting for a New Vegas remake. The same problem F1-2 remakes running into and slowly dying. Same reason F:Lonestar doesn't look like a game set in Texas. You just started seeing bashers where they aren't.

If this modder is talent why can't he create his own world space though and make an actually fallout map ?

Saying that at least its not a furry mod ............
