Olympus 2207 English Demo released

egalor

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
Finally, after long months of hard work the developers of Olympus 2207 present the English version of their game, and I have been kindly charged with the announcement of the game here at nma.

Olympus 2207, while being more than just a yet another Fallout total conversion mod, is a post-nuclear game set somewhere in the US Silicon Valley. You take the role of one of the survivors of the global atomic war, taking shelter under an immense skyscraper that mysteriously survived the bombardment. Death or glory awaits... or is there no glory to claim?

The game uses Fallout 2 engine, however tons of visuals (including video, animations and static images) were done from scratch. The game also uses a lot of ambient music, which, in our view, nicely fits into the game theme. In this English demo you will be able to experience all of the above, as well as try out different paths to success.

The installer download link is here.

Please use this thread to for questions, comments, critique, bug reports and anything which might be related to Olympus 2207. We will observe the thread closely and try to respond asap.

Thanks!

Probably an utterly stupid question, but how do I get to the tech level? I can go to the parking lot (for the bottle) from the living quarter, but didn't find any other exit.

There's another exit on the opposite side of the parking lot entrance.

A little advice, forget about the bottle, take a lot of medicines (Heal-up and Bandages) and go fight the guard.

I have another problem,I can't figure out why the lavaches are sick, why they're sick?

If you surrender, I can PM you a hint :)
I know that maybe they're sick because of the water or the corn, but I can't find anyone to talk about it (except for the butcher)

Ok,give me the hint please :D

Nice graphics, very impressive work. IMHO the music gets tiring and repetitive after a while.

I have managed to get the medication and find the wrench, nothing more to do, noone talks at level 1, no idea how to get to any other level. CH5 IN9 if that matters. Any suggestion (PM or here). Whaat is meant by DEMO? Is that a complete game or just a few maps as teaser?

Demo means it is a working game, but which contains a only a portion of the full game's content, effectively the very beginning.

Hint: talk to your brother to move on.

I can't even find the damned parking lot, is it in the first map or in another (could get out of the first yet, and everyplace in it looks the same, no parking lot in there I think)

I know, but it didn't make sense that the guard only lets you pass for some brew that you have to pass first to make it...

First off, gotta say all the new graphics are very impressive. Great work, Rain Man. And thanks to Egalor for translating.

I'm having a problem where after completing the 3rd quest, the game is crashing to desktop. Unfortunately, I'm running Vista for now....The error message is "The instruction at 0048d351 referenced memory at 702e3759. The memory could not read from"
This happens if I try to save after completing the 3rd quest or when I'm done talking to mom after 3rd quest. Gonna see what I can do about it but if anyone has advice it would be appreciated.

This approach will break the game curve, do not do this. Even if the guard ask you for buzz, just agree and "use" the stairs behind him. Guys, just "use" the stairs  In Tartarus there are 4 levels (parking level and 3 levels down), you start at the first level, just under the parking. When you're child, you can not leave the "Living Blocks", but when you start the second phase (~17 years old), you can USE stairs and go where you want :)

Thanks for yours words. I will try to repeat this bug, but I doubt if I can do this... Perhaps you've done smth wrong during the game (kill guards or some quests personnages). Sorry for this stupid suggestion, but try to play another manner.
