9/10 One of the characters of NMA Cartoon Show.
7/10, not cause I'm harsh, but because I use the full 1-10 scale. It's not bad, it's something I haven't seen before, but it's nothing special.
Meh, I don't really like anime.
Colorful, well designed, well cropped, relevant to our interest. 8/10
You don't like anime? 10/10
although Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Ghibli are fantastic.
For some reason i always associate your avatar with baldurs gate... Hm... maybe there was a pack of avatars that i have downloaded.
8/10 for the avatar.
6/10 for the smug face.
7/10. I have the sneaking suspicion I rated yours already, but in the event that I haven't... it's nothing particularly special for me, but it DOES always remind me of the Muppets whenever I see it, and it stands out, so on a forum where personal identity is like a valuable name brand, visual recognition is a pretty good thing to have.
As an aside...
What's your deal with anime? I don't get it. It's just a storytelling artistic medium, it's not some kind of singular entity. Your outlooks looks the same to me as condemning all western cartoons because of the crap that plays on The Hub right now, which would disregard awesome cartoons like Rocco's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, and the like. Anime is just a medium. There's amazing anime and there's crap anime. Being anime had nothing to do with them being amazing or crap. <_<
At least my avatar ain't generic. You either know who that is, or you don't know who that is. If you knew who it was, you'd probably share my appreciation for the character. =)
Cause really, Donquixote Doflamingo is the man! He's a boss. A BAMF. Best fictional antagonist I've ever read. Every time I hear his speech about the hypocrisy of justice it sends shivers down my spine.
Fucking amazing speech. =D
I am not a fan of anime either (I don´t say I hate it or anything, just not a fan), but still, that avatar is cool - 8/10
I would suggest using the perk image.
Not sure if it's because I am kind of blind or if it's because the image is too small, but is that a dude with a WHOLE EAGLE for a head? Because if it is 10/10.
Looks like a Muppet. I approve. 7/10
6/10 I'm not a huge fan of real faces (if it's from a movie, I don't get it)
Not really, this is Perun, the Slavic god of war, he's got an eagle on his shoulders in this picture.
TheChosen1: Artwork's attractive, but not quite my cup of tea - at least, not very Fallouty-themed, imo. But hey, what do I know?
I do like the Emilio Estivez avatar, IEatSupermutants; reminds me of Repo Men.
-- I can't believe this thread is still running! 699 pages, whoa. How long 'til we hit 1000?
Perun was not a god of war as far as we know, he was the god of lightning.
As for avatar above, I give it a solid 6. It's okay, but small, and the black frame kinda ruins it. It should've been bigger.
The original Vault Dweller; in a style that looks almost like something out of Aeon Flux ~if it were painted by Frank Frezetta. 9/10
For some reason i remember someone with a similar name of Gizmo, or maybe it was even you, who was active on this forum at the time Fallout 3 was coming out. Am i dreaming about you mr.gizmo?
10/10 for being a patriot. -3 if we are talking about art.
Huh, then I was taught the wrong thing my whole life. Well that sucks. Done some digging and found out that he was pretty much the Slavic Zeus.
Avatar above: A black rectangle/10
Yeah, wasn't that Volos? Reciting this from memory, though, so forgive me if it's one of the lesser-used (or worse, incorrect) spellings.
Anyway, 8/10. I personally like it, and learning that it's a an old slavic deity just scores more points for me. =D
To be honest, Perun could have been the god of war (he had a bunch of weapons, after all) and some presume that he had been the deity of war too, but yeah, he's closer to Zeus than to Ares, since we're making an analogy with Greek mythology.
Veles/Volos could have been a god of war, I guess. He was the enemy of Perun's, so they did fight a lot.
So could've been Svetovid, but I think his cult wasn't that widespread.
Eh, it's been a while since I read up on Slavic mythology. Bottom line, there's to little actual information on it, and too much speculation. To add the cherry on top, depending on which group of Slavic people's pantheon (i.e. Western Slavs etc.) you were exploring, and even the particular subgroup within the three major group, there are differences, sometimes significant ones. Basically, it was different from town to town, from settlement to settlement.
Long story short, Perun might've been a god of war, but few things are definitive with Slavic mythology.
As for the topic... 8/10
I like that it's a gif, and it looks nasty, and you've used that guy before, but I have no idea where it's from. I imagine it's some anime.
7/10 Still a good Avatar, and I still say he looks just like Aradesh.
