Spooky Stories, Creepy pasta

Does anyone have any good, well thought out and reasonably sized stories along this line?

I was just browsing when I remembered an old spooky story I read (way back in 2004), I recall it was called something like The Cave or The Pit. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I'm having trouble tracking it down.

Anyway, while looking for that I found another one that I'd read years back, still gives me goosebumps.

Pretty interestingly done, it creeped the shit outta me a few years back.

EDIT:

Found the cave story. It's probably better than the house one.

I read both of those a long time ago. I haven't found anything else like them in the many years I've used the net. I'm glad you posted them since I lost the links. Also I'm sure lots of people who've only been online a few years have never seen them.

Sincerely,

I read the cave one a long time ago, but the dionaea house one is new to me. Neither of them really creep me out. I'm not easily spooked, but more than that is the way that they're written, such as how Mark keeps mentioning certain things (Remember this specific thing? And this one? And how about this?). It makes me feel like I'm reading a deliberate exposition that's supposed to draw me in, but it just does the opposite. And what the hell is with the time on the last "text message" from Mark? 5:77 PM? Oooo-EEE-oooo...

The effort put into the dionaea house story is pretty admirable, though.

Still, want something creepy? How about this: Imagine placing a toothpick securely under one of your big toenails in such a way that it points straight out from the toe. Now imagine using that foot to kick a wall as hard as you possibly can. :D

*SPOILERS*

Neither of them are hoaxes, they're works of fiction. And yeah, the Ted the Caver one is based off the Thomas lera thing, but it ends earlier to suggest that Ted never came back

A quick google search should be able to find it I'm sure.

I'm in the middle of reading a book called House of Leaves, quite interesting and in the same vein as the two stories I mentioned previously, definitely worth checking out.

Thx. For some reason that link stops at chapter 3. I found another page with the full story, but it doesn't have the sketches and all that.

Really interesting story. Theres something ancient and mysterious about caves that really tingles your imagination when you think of it.

I didn't finish the house story because I kept thinking that if this guy was sending me these e-mails, I'd find it annoying and add him to the spam filter. That made me laugh and spoiled the scary bit. :P

I appalaud the effort though. It should be possible to pull off a good epistolic e-mail story.

If you guys like scary stories like this, you might like some of the interactive fiction that's been written in the last few years. One called Anchorhead comes to mind.

Google "interactive fiction anchorhead" and that'll get you started.
