Pretty cool stuff. I think the second Vic head looks a little too pasty for someone that travels around a lot in a sunny environment. Unless he's like a vampire and only goes out at night and hides in some cave during the day.
Ok, couple more screenshots. Miria (F3 Buttercup) and robodog (K-9) Now, let's see if I can fully implement Vic into RP with mood reactions and all. Spoiler Spoiler Different version of Goris Spoiler Spoiler PS: Miss Miria Buttercup can blink now!
New backgrounds for talking heads. Here you go Navarro one is quite "hacky". My gimp skills are lacking. But it looks nice in game. Talking head is in the way. Reno is kinda crooked. Maybe you can lend a hand with this one? I got many more raw images to come up with backgrounds. Glow (request from Mib88) Spoiler
These are all just superb... The green Goris with the cloak is well done, though the color of his skin may be a bit strong. Any plans on implementing these as a modular add on for F02 or the RP?
@J_Fred Thanks for the feedback. To answer your question, yes, I'm planning on releasing an add-on for RP once I got enough decent content compiled together.
To give this thread a bump. Here is a link to the thread on russian fallout forum that has samples of more talking head ripping 'n' flipping. Check out the pics from page 10 onward.
Yeah, there's quite a few talented people around here that keep it going. It's amazing how a game that's pushing 20 years old has that kind of longevity to where people are interested to that degree.
Somehow I missed this before. Keep up the great work! That Miria is very lovely-- might even be a problem to ask her to do embarrassing things while looking into those starry eyes. How far along is that particular project?
@Endocore Well, I'm maybe third of the way done with what I wanted to do. I am planning on adding TH portraits (some animated, some not) to all recruitable NPCs and some major in-game characters like New Reno bosses, Metzger, etc. And of course a dozen new backgrounds for them. When putting them together I'm trying to adhere to fallouty look as much as possible. So hopefully people could use them to expand on their game's experience. I'm no master photoshoper, so for some pro artists my efforts will look amateurish but hey everybody has to start somewhere
I've done only Vic in English so far. Lil demo of what's done. Just unpack data folder into RP folder replacing the original files.
Oh man, that was a dream of mine! Perhaps decades from now when I'm able to replay Fallout 2 again this will now be a reality. As for Vic, why the custom backdrops? I prefer sticking with the official ones, but the fact that people are making new ones is cool. I always support modding.
New backgrounds, because not all locations have them and some are inaccurate. Like New Reno one. With Children of Apocalypse symbol on the wall. Now, with this addon, there will be desert, mountain and ocean backgrounds depending on the random encounter map when you talk to your party members. Here are screenshots of missing mountain and ocean.
Amazing work! how's the progress on the mod going? Are you making talking heads for all the npc's or just some of them? Because so far this looks great! I can't even imagine how much more awesome Fallout 1 and 2 could be if every character had a talking head.
