It'll be great if in the next fallout at certain part of the game you must go to another country or something, completely changing the game's atmosphere so that it's a little more dynamic right?

    What do you think?

I think it might make things a little too dynamic-- Fallout's already lost a lot of the small-world wasteland charm that used to define it. Yes, the area the map covered was, many, many times larger than in the current games, but that area was also likely to comprise your world entire for the rest of your life, and the odds are that almost no one you were likely to run into had been-- or even heard of anything-- too far beyond its boundaries. Part of what defines a post-apocalyptic setting, for me, is a certain sense of isolation and old-world hardship in getting from place to place. It's you vs. the unknown. The world is your master, not the other way around. News doesn't travel fast, and a lot of the time, you wish you hadn't heard it once it gets there.

The Highwayman in FO2 sort of pushed the boundaries on that front, and the radio stations in FO3 encroached even further (logically speaking, they had to happen sooner or later, but I don't know about every single person in the wasteland having a working radio to listen to them on). Even at this point in the timeline, with civilization really starting to take root again, a globetrotting hero would sort of dash the isolated lone hero thing against the rocks once and for all, unless it was very carefully done. By and large, compelling stories that arise from settings like Fallout's wasteland are generally concerned with threats that arise in the main character's own backyard. The world's still too screwed up to worry about saving it-- you start with saving your corner of it. And if it turns out the only known VaultTec McGuffin still in existence is somewhere in Australia, well-- guess you're screwed. Time to move everyone out of the Vault. That's how these people have to think. The world's a dangerous, largely primitive place, and except for those in the highest echelons of power and connectedness, they can't be too concerned with what's going on two or three timezones over the horizon until it comes knocking.

(Of course, it's all dependent on the writing. It could be a nice diversion if they justified it well, but it would still probably lack the Fallout "feel.")

I believe it could be a good idea if written properly as Yamu said. I have always thought a fallout game set somewhere in russia with a new story could be great. I am aware that maybe it's a little to much to ask for since I can't really do anything to contribute to that idea. A plus I think is that the writers will have the freedom of writing new stories and everything to it with no limitation to the time span, but the disadvantage is that everything has from scratch (thats how I see it if I am wrong I am open for other perspectives) maybe it should have referrences to some major events that took place.

Having the game in China would be pretty awesome. But not 200 years after the war, maybe 30 years after, so that there is still remnants of the Chinese army for you to kill. Your mission could be to stop the remnants of the Chinese army and/or government from becoming a threat to the world again.

The game probably wouldn't be too popular in China, but oh well.

If its set in CHina mere years after the war why would you mission be kill the CHinese Goverment remnants? why would you have a mission to kill them to stop them from becoming a threat? if the character is CHinese then as far as hje knows is the USA's fault everythign happened, and as far as we know either of them or even both of them could have been the responsibles for the world destruction. Terrible idea is terrible.

I wouldn't mind going and finding out some new area part way through the game; but I'd hate to not be able to return to a spot without adequate warning, and fall further victim to my hoarding ways.

China could be a good idea :). My point was presenting the same time span FO1 - FO2 but from a different perspective (Different continent/country)

A rather stereotypical idea but : Russia has always been a leading military force so Russia probably has a lot to do with nuking the world. There are rumours that there are hidden nuclear rockets in some mountains (there most probably are). An adventure idea could be that a mad scientist/visionary could haver acquired access to those remaining rockets and wants to launch them, but thats just a stereotypical idea that could become something with some creative writing. (since Russia was my idea I went with Russia)

You have not even answered how China being in the resource wars would make their citizens be on the side of the USA so they would want to stop the CHinese goverment? China and other countries were hit just as bad as the USA, if the game takes place 30 years after the war in CHINA why would the mission would be to stop China? Thats like FO3 level story and logic. It woudl actualy be interestign if they flipped the roles, and subvert the typical USA=good guys The other side=IBOLZ, and make the Chiense goverment remnants more sympatetic, or make it so China recovered faster from the Fallout, somethign a little mroe interesting to play.

That's not what I meant. Maybe that's why nobody is understanding my concept... well that, and maybe it's a bit far-fetched too.

But, my idea is for an American operative or spy, go to China to stop the Chinese Government from doing whatever they were going to do. You fill in the rest. I'm not asking for a pullitzer prize for story-making - it's just an idea. relax.

    Did you mean "unintelligible"? :naughty:

You should probably kill yourself. Or at least do the world a favor and have yourself sterilized, so that your genes don't get passed.

....if you can't understand that, you either can't read, or don't speak english. Seriously! I thought you were joking when you tried to tell me that it was unintelligible. What I said is the clearest, most concise thing ever posted on this fucking forum! Trying to call something so intellegently written, "dumb", just makes you look like a derp.

So, by all means, keep trying to make me look dumb, and continue to fail; thereby digging yourself deeper into a hole of retardation.

Wow! You really should quit while you still have some self-respect left.

First, you say that it is unintelligible -- which means that you can't understand it.

Then you say what I wrote was "confused" -- which means I confused you.

Now you say it's dumb -- which means you can't think of a better idea but are too afraid to say so -- so you lash out like a scared animal, cornered.

No matter what you say to defend yourself, you will only be digging yourself deeper. Fail.

Keep trying though. You might just win the internet prize for derp-failing.

this implies that im respecting myself less and less
    which isnt true
and which you couldnt know unless your some kind of crazy wizard man
what it means was not that i could not understand it but that it could not be understood that as my dictionary put it, it was not capable of being understood

there is a difference you see
no, it meant that what you wrote was confused not i
that it was unclear and befuddled and disconcerted and etc etc
that is not at all what dumb means
where did you get your dictionary

i do have a better idea

    do not go to china
this proves that i am literally better than you as a human being
