I was thinking of buying it now, but decided not to. Don't have enough time to play it, so I might as well get it on Summer Sale.

KCD is a bit less buggy since the Day 1 patch dropped. Ive been playing it on the PS4 with little to no bugs so far. Just left the toutorial area, looks nice prolly much better on a decent gaming PC but I'm satisfied. The unwashed masses are hammering this game online for bugs and such. Plus the regressives are suggesting the markers of this game are rightwing gamergaters (ugh) and that this game should be avoided. Granted, this is not the entirety or majority opinion but I have seen such things online to my disappointment.

  5. Skyrim and Oblivion has the same amount of bugs and "clunkiness" as KCD, possibly even more. Yet both get praised despite having double the problems of KCD.

I hope there will be a strong mod community behind it, so someone might create a third-person perspective for the game.

God, I've seen three streams of intelligent players trying KCD. I insist on the "intelligent" part. People who understand storytelling, abstract ideas, who can read a book etc.
They all skipped the tutorials, the ones explaining what the icons are, what they do etc. They ignored the texts telling them explicitly what to do. They skipped dialogues whenever they were longer than 10 seconds, spoke about their lives during important exposition scenes etc.
Then, all three of them, spent HOURS ranting about the game. Everytime they died because they lacked an information they skipped -on purpose-, they blamed the game for being a mess. They complained about not being able to end the tutorial because they didn't read what they were supposed to do. They forgot who the characters were and what they were supposed to do in a matter of seconds after speaking to them. They complained about the game not being immersive while complaining that they couldn't "just fuck around and kill everyone".
It's painful to watch, really. Makes me want to buy the game even more.

I'm curious about Metro Exodus too. The devs confirmed that it won't be an open world game. They want to invest more time and efforts into making the areas believable, rather than in making a big world with nothing to do, apparently. Good point.

Well games shouldn't be trying to cater to a specific style or gameplay just for the sake of it. I believe in games what always comes first, or what should come first is mechanics and then you should craft the story. What this means is, do not turn your game in to open world, if you don't want to actually do that mechanic justice. I mean turning something like Doom into a turn based Strategy game, just because it's the flavour of the month, wouldn't be a great decision either.

I love story driven games. But what bothers me more is a game with good story and bad gameplay, than a game with good gameplay and bad story. Sadly, to many games become 'cinematic experiences' these days, for the lack of better words.

  9. Metro Exodus might contain something similar to Crysis' open ended sandbox levels with different ways to approach a path.

The news I head about their modding tools/set wasn't encouraging:
I assume there will be mods, but I doubt there will be complex ones (like new locations/maps or Total Conversions). If they won't release a modding kit.

Final Fantasy 15 comes out on PC on my birthday. I might wait a bit on Kingdom Come, it sounds and looks interesting but I don't think I have the time to properly get into a game that mechanocally complex. Maybe when I take my vacation time.

Can't tell if the horse controls are bad or if I just need to improve my horsemanship.

What makes me laugh is when people have like no levels in strength or the melee skills. Attack 2 bandits with Armour. No Armour them self's with not up together weapons and armour. Then get easily chined out and complain about it. Like this isn't skyrim you can't just best the top fighter straight away. I like that actually practisting makes you better fight rather leveling up like skyrim for meaningless perks. Sure you have to master to combat systems but its come down to raw stats too. I'll admit it was confusing at frist in fist fights because they where always wining grapples etc. Not realising that stats actually matter. If and NCP has 8 strenght and you have 4 you going to struggle period. Inless your a good fighter. You can just best good soilders easily and people complain ? And you can heal in combat that really seems to trigger them.

Also I found riding the horse easyier improving horemanship. I also found it better by taking the perks that slows the horse down by about 20 % but gets 20 % more travel weight. When it goes that bit slower it really seems to help out with the control of it

Also they wonder how they win fights with out by able to raise HP. Everyone has the same so you better good armour or get good at the game. I like how each fight does't come down to an HP trade off

It really shows how much some people depend on formulaic gameplay. like when you change the focus of a game based on a HP centric system, and they are helpless like a headless chicken infront of a snake because they have no clue that you have to do something different than playing whack-a-mole and drowning in potions till the enemy dies.

It's the same complains people have when they for example move from a simplicstic RTS game to something that has actuall armor and gun values, where you need the corect gun to penetrate the enemy armor. Oh gosh! You have to learn something and memorize something in the game using the correct tools to fight something! The horror!

That's awesome to hear. I'm really enjoying my time with this game. It's just a damn shame that I can't really put as much time into this thing as I would like.

I already put 20 hours in the game ;). Some of the side quests can be really lengthy. Pretty interesting as well. I need to get some serious armour though. Took a quest to kill some bandits and got completely owned. Need a decent sword. Cost is so high though. Might have to get chain mail as its much cheaper. Got Another tip for riding horse's I remembered is to wear boots with spurs attached this gives you better control

I really hope the game will have a sound economy. It's really silly that role playing games at some point drown you in wealth ...

Happens really in every game when you play it enough. Giving the player alot to spend money on really helps though. Might have lot of money but atleast have to spend it on
