First time out of the vault
Xenonauts is a single-player PC strategy game, heavily inspired by the classic X-Com / UFO: Enemy Unknown.
You control an organisation tasked with defending the planet against alien invasion.
Base building and management, turn based ground combat with fully destructible environment, air combat, alien artefacts research, and many more.
Also there is a demo (1GB) available on kickstarter.

It's really not our fault that it's become the primary source of games that would interest our motley crew of haberdashers.

Agreed. I just hope the games are good.

It's been around for quite a while. I've been backing it (through pre-order) for months now.

Really looking forward to it, too.

Signed up for pre-order as well, actively playing and commenting on the boards.

It's showing that it's an alpha build, but I like seeing a returning franchise staying close to it's roots. UFO influenced JA, the devs of Xenonauts are listening to feedback from both UFO and JA veterans. I've even added some Fallout inspired suggestions in there - on random encounters and branching story arc, to name 2.

The community is what does it for me now. They even have active modders, some guy created a GUI tool that mods weapon and vehicle stats. And the devs are some of the first to respond to this kind of effort, backing it and giving suggestions.

The small dev team and limited funding won't make it into the gem it could be, but it could light a spark with some turnbased strategy lovers. It's peanuts to pre-order, please back this if you're into this kind of game & spread the word.

Bought it already a long time ago on Desura. Haven't tried every dev build since then, but what I played seemed promising.

So two years in, they recently finished v20, which is now available on Steam early access. Anyone here follows it closely? if so how well goes it and when can we expect a finial release?
