Armoured talking heads

I'm stumbling through the scripting to make the heads change in-game. It'll take a while unless a good scripter wants to do it for me, in which case it would probably take about 10 mins!
 
Wouldn't his face need to be a tad darker when under the hood? Right now it looks a bit like a floating face in black.

Yes, I agree. Of the three companions Myron's ugly mug looks the worse and was certainly the hardest to work with. The color profile of his head is bizarre and not really compatible with the other TH's i've ripped from. Also, the perspective on his head is very strange - either with a very wide-angle 'lense', slightly from above or both.

ANyway - I'm going to make another pass over all three armors for him:

1) darken his face in the robes
2) widen his shoulders on the combat armor
3) increase the size of his head relative to the PA -does anyone else think his head is too small in proportion to the armor?

Yes, power armor Myron needs bit bigger head
and I think combat armor shoulders are just fine. Myron is a small frame guy after all.

There was one of the chosen one firing with two deagles, gangster dying at a table (I believe it was Jesus Mordino), Metzger exploding, and I'm sure there was more...
I can't wait, this is a great addition to NPC armor mod.
 
I always thought the animation threads should have a sticky so it would be easy to access them without searching through the pages and they are important for modding.

I can't wait, this is a great addition to NPC armor mod.

I've let him know in a PM and MIB88 is already working it into the MM. Thanks to Drobovik and MIB I should be able to release this as an RP 2.3 compatible stand-alone mod once it's polished and tested in a week or two.
 
The only exception I can think of is Myron. He does get angry when you try to convince him there might be a cure for Jet addiction.

So it would appear from testing that this unfortunately is not correct. The Cassidy in my current savegame is 'good' disposition to me, and Drobovik has the same with Sulik. Does anyone know how/why companions somtimes use their bad/good heads after they've been recruited?

Myron's power armor head is perfect, don't change it.

Unfortunately it's huge - 187MB. This is unavoidable because the antique engine has to treat each TH as an entirely new one, voice files and all.

1) This completes the NPC armor mod for me. It really bugged me the way the above three companions had armored sprites but their TH's always looked the same - so now they're consistently armored!
2) It's RP 2.3 compatible. In fact, so far it's only RP 2.3 compatible because it's the final part of the NPC armor mod, and so doesn't really make sense as a vanilla mod. I may make a vanilla version of the entire NPC armor mod in the future. (armored sprites and armored TH's)
3) MIB88 will be working it into the MM. Hopefully it will be included in future RP versions although Killap has not got back to me yet.
4) I only made companions 'neutral' faces. I suspect NPC's do sometimes use their 'good' faces (once recruited) in rare cases but it's a lot of work to make that happen. So you'll only see their neutral faces once you've recruited one of the three companions above with this mod.
5) I may do Cassidy's unarmored face in the future. For now it just uses leather armor.
6) APA but has a 'radio' sound filter applied to the characters voices. See earlier in this thread for a sample.

You know the deal: unpack the .rar to your Fallout 2 game directory and overwrite any files. All files go in the corresponding folders, which with the RP installed, will already exist. If you've never done this before then post in this thread for help.

Please report any bugs and issues here - there probably will be as Killaps RP source scripts are not always easy to understand.

Cassidy looks good with the leather jacket, but unfortunately on my game, Sulik's screen is blacked out. I have him wearing the robes, by the way. I haven't picked up Myron, yet. You know, I had the blacked out screen happen to Cassidy's talking head happen to me on one of the previous versions of the RP. I use to just use the original talking head for him because of that, until the new version of the RP came out and it was working.

If it's blacked out that usually means the game can't find the art. Check Suliks heads are in the data\art\heads folder and of course that the script is in the scripts folder.
 
I can't get this mod to work, I've made sure all the files are in the correct place and everything and I have RP 2.33.
So far:
- Cassidy won't even enter dialogue with me
- Sulik's screen goes black when I talk to him with any armour on.

I've not tried Myron as I'm assuming he has similar bugs.

Any suggestions?
