Yeah, random "raiders" are fine, But would it have killed them to add some actual tribes in fixed locations? Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, maybe they have. Problem is bethesda's track record, while the pitt was okay, paradise falls was just generic slaver camp. I've often thought that paradise falls would look better if ALL of the raiders there dressed like pimps, like Eulogy Jones, with slick hair and weasely faces. I mean that place was essentially a giant, slaver run, bordello.

Paradise Falls would've been better if they weren't just a secluded location in the buttcrack of the map and Slave traffickers and slaves had more of a pressence in the other settlements. Or if they were using those slaves for something productive. Like, what do they do with those Slaves? Just keep them on a pen all day cuz IBOLS? The Pitt tries to imply they are all under the emploment of Ashur, but then why even keep them in Pens? Why omit something that important form the main game and relegate it to DLC? Why not make them all look like Pitt Raiders from the beginning?

Ok, I'm going to say something ''optimistic'', I can't wait to see what Obsidian will ''cook'' (:wiggle:) from this upgraded engine, they will probably do better job again in like 13 months than Bethesda have done in 4-7 years.. :puppy-dog:
Or Bethesda will not allow them to do so, so Obsidian will not embarrass them again :surprised:

Because Bethesda has this problem of only having good (okay, average) ideas after the core game is released. I agree with Paradise Falls, should have been an actual town. Shitty town, ruled by a bunch of pimps who run a bordello, but remember I'm not a bethesda writer, so my idea doesn't make any sense at all to them.

Yes and no, I really can't remember "Raider" encounters, but press-groups and highway-men and hubologists and such - and these are tough fights! Especially the latter. Those plasma grenades, how I hate them!

for the most part in FO1 and FO2, there was always some hint of logic to why the random encounter people would attack you.

the tribals were "cannibals" if they were just cannon fodder. same with the crazed druggies, or the slavers. highwaymen were actual robbers that operated near roads/travel corridors, if they were hostile muties they were from The Master's army.

the closest they got to this blandness is with the crazed ghouls you would encounter north of Gecko, but at least that kinda makes sense since they are deteriorating physically and mentally and came from the nearby ghoul settlement.

there was a reason for them to be antagonistic, and generally some flavor dialogue beyond "I keel you!!!" to point it out.

You would be right on that, According to Bethesda. Ayyy lmao's caused nuclear devastation.

People can try to rationalize it as implied, but it wouldn't put it past me if that is what they are trying to convey.

This begs the question though, How the fuck can you honestly defend Bethesda when all they put out is shit dipped in sprinkles? Their games are objectively mediocre and has not much anything going for it other than just something to waste time in. If all i needed to do was make a world where i just put on armor and what not, while making my own face and just slam in some mobs of enemies with guns, I should have become a millionaire a long time ago.

To be fair, Bethesda did at one time put out some good games but that era is long gone. Also that mothership zeta shit pisses me off. Whenever I do an FO3 run I just pretend that the vault dweller fell down and cracked his head, then had a fever dream about aliens. Because let me tell you, whoever thought up Zeta must have been high on something. But seriosuly, no, in no way in a series inspired by cold war paranoia, where the only aliens pre FO3 were just government experiments gone wrong, were FUCKING ALIENS in anyway responsible for the nukes going off, and any employee who wrote that in as even a possibility should be fired and exiled to Siberia.

Oh, that's always been a Fallout thing. I have no problem with an Alien blaster, but anything like mothership zeta? Ugh.

There's sorta precedent for that, one of the first Fallout 3 patches fixed the navmesh in Megaton because some of the nodes led off a walkway that, in rare cases, could cause the entire town to suicide Lemmings style.

I am not playing any more Bethesda games unless they give me something useful to do with the metric tons of food ingredients I collect. There is no part of my brain that understands why they haven't implemented the sleep, hunger, and thirst meters from New Vegas. It is obviously the perfect fit for a game which lets you sleep, eat, and drink, and in which I spend half my time sifting through the junk they put in containers.
