No way are they Post-War. Even though House was an enigmatic genius, there's no way he managed to put up all those billboards like that. All of the casinos on the Strip are Pre-War, and House gathered up three of the tribes in Vegas to imitate the previous "themes" of the casinos. Which were the three big "groups" of Vegas in the 1950s: The Rat Packers, the Mafia, and the Snob Rich.

What is more likely, that coincidentaly the billboards for the 3 casinos of the strip survived the apocalypse +200 of wear and tear or that House would just pay some NCR engineers to paint some billboards post war when he was stinking rich from squeezing dumb NCR civilians and soldiers out of their money? Also House states the strip was a ruin, and seeing the state of Freeside outside the wall of Debris is not hard to imagine the inside of what is the strip now was as much of a ruin that he spend money and effort rebuilding.

Not everything has to be pre war, that's Bethesda's approach.

What's more likely is that they put the three billboards in the game because there's three casinos on the Strip. In real terms, do you really think the Strip is just four casinos, a dingy Vault themed hotel, an embassy, and some painter's shop?

I want all the mutants and robots to be either puppets, costumes, or claymation so it'll mirror '50s sci-fi films and have the show take place in Alaska around maybe the time of Fallout 1. Maybe some small villages and nomadic tribes that descend from Chinese soldiers, American soldiers, and american/canadian survivors from Vaults.

Abstraction of space is one thing, but everything being pre war is another different matter and one that is more Bethesda's approach. In New Vegas there is much more Post war structures being built in general, and it would make more sense for House to actually having put money and effort int ohis venture instead of just everything being conveniently immaculated even 200 years after a nuclear war.
The only thing that is completely pre war in the strip is Mr House's casino because it was sealed shut entirely and protected by big metal doors.

You literally have nothing to prove this except your feelings towards Bethesda's overusage of repurposing Pre-War buildings. House literally stopped the nukes from falling on Vegas, most of all the Strip. Not everything is completely immaculate anyway, considering there's a fuck-huge hole in the Tops.

I get the idea that he funded a lot of money into refurbishing the Strip. I can even agree to this. But the money didn't roll in until the casinos were back in business and Vegas was turned back on.

The Nukes are not the only thing that caused destruction, as you can see with the entirety of Freeside being a dilapidated ruin.

And that's when he would be able to get some billboards done, the game starts when he is already been in business for years, what's exactly the issue here?

    I agree 100%

It's sad really, I don't like complaining about things a lot but I know for a fact that bugthesda will completely fuck this up. I used to be a person who first started with Fallout 4. I thought "Man this game is awesome!" then I played Fallout 2...

Never thought a game made 1998 could outclass a game released in 2015, BY FAR!
Goes to show how much bethesda has ruined the Fallout title.

I think it's a misunderstanding about what "casinos are pre-war/post-war" means. I think the casino buildings and names were meant to be pre-war, but they were heavily refurbished post-war by House. All the neon signs replaced and so on, but the big billboards outside NV can feasibly be pre-war. I don't think the casinos were founded or completely built after the war.

The Casinos are pre-war. Ultra Lux, TOPS, Gomorrah and Lucky 38 all have pre-war newspaper clips, framed and on display in several places around New Vegas:

Sorry for the small size, but these are ripped directly from the game assets, so that's their real size.

I know this is a continuity nod but I can not help but feel that the writers of Fallout 76 are basically "ripping off" a better game.
Probably a couple of people will now say that nothing can make old Fallout fans like me happy. Well the reason why I feel like this is because the rest of Fallout 76 is an unimaginative mess and a gameplay wreck.

All these little continuity references aren't cute, they are an indication that these designers know that their own stuff is shit.

Together with the Cabot House quest and various other references in Fallout 4 I can't shake the feeling that they're gonna go west in the next game, at least in a DLC.

Emil REALLY wants to do San Francisco. The original pitch for Fallout 4 by Emil was reportedly San Fran, but Todd wanted to keep it East Coast. This was why originally the story element from Van Buren of the Enclave nuking the Shi in mistaken retribution for the Oil Rig was going to be referenced in Vegas, but Obsidian were explicitly told to cut that line.

This is also likely why Kellogg is from San Francisco and you get that weird cameo of it shoved in 4.

@Risewild Always the reliable guy when it comes to lore stuff.

Just thought of saying something positive in this thread given the topic.

Not just San Francisco, Kellogg coming from NCR, living in the Hub, and then moving to San Francisco. The whole Cali package of references, only for him to suddenly end up on the East Coast.

If the Westworld people are involved, do you think they will go Meta with it? I have only watched season 1, but I found that a scene with the guy planning a "savage horde" event getting pissed with his modelers because they made the models too ugly and with the techno nerds because they couldn't spare more than 10 or so robots for the horde due to technical limitations really funny, always made me think that that's how Bethesda games development usually goes because that's all of their "cinematic moments" always marred by low production values and heavy technical limitations because of the engine.

The more probable scenario is them making a Fallout 4 series, I don't think Bethesda will let them get too creative.

I'd say it is dubious whether this show will even occur. Since as far as I'm aware it's just Bethesda making a publicised pitch.

Same way Jordan Voight-Roberts has been publicly posting content related to an MGS movie but there's literally zero progress on it getting made

I've always felt as though an episodic Western-inspired story arc would work well with Fallout (that's generally how I autistically envision my New Vegas playthroughs playing out) but moreso as a comic rather than a TV show.
