Whatever happens, I hope they beef up The Burned Man and Ulysses (assuming they are antagonists) to Horrigan levels. They certainly deserve more than V -> click -> click -> click -> E.

the problem is more the mechanic behind Vegas which is based on F3. There is now way how you can NOT become badass at the end. And I dont know ... simply making some enemy super duper fast or to give him super duper much health ... feels boring at some point.

Judging by the lack of a Steam achievement featuring the Burned Man we can assume that he won't be an enemy or at least that you won't have to fight him. If Legionaries are the enemies in Honest Hearts then he'll probably fight on your side.

Edit: Ulysses will almost definitely be an antagonist to the Courier though, judging by the "battle between two couriers" mentioned in Dead Money.

That's a good point--boss encounters in this engine usually feel tedious.

Can it be confirmed or denied whether or not those are the *only* achievements/trophies in Honest Hearts? Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. :D

Didn't every Fallout 3 DLC (and FNV so far) got only 5 new achievements? So one can be pretty sure that there will be no additional ones.

I'd like to see some more love for the energy weapons users in the upper-but-not-uber range. The holorifle is cool and all, but where ma ammo-efficient lazors at? High tech energy weapons-focused light armor would also be sweet, maybe some sort of lightweight Jr. power armor with a small special bonus but security armor-ranged DT.

And how about something to do with my ridiculous amounts of wealth? Maybe something property-ish like Real Time Settler, investing in a factory/science lab that produces some high-tech toys for you on a regular basis, or maybe just time and money gets spent re-beautifying a town to something resembling pre-war civilization. And there's of course the beautiful realm of unnecessary surgery that, maybe after getting five 50,000 cap treatments results in a +1 CHA perk.

The thing is, I basically trust Obsidian to give me a good story and a fun experience, but I also care how well the DLC fits into my overall character plans and balancing out various gameplay styles.

I understand what you are saying, but the problem is not much the change from isometric view to FPS.

VATS was designed from the beginning to make the character ubber-powerfull, that's the real problem.
What's worse, you can't disable the damn thing, otherwise a modder would have done that.
Obsidian at least tried to make the thing more palatable, but they are really pulling a teeth, there's no way the damn thing work properlly.

I think the philosophy behind FO3 is the worst thing of all, much worse than all the changes Bethesda made it.
In FO2 you have to weigh the cons and pros of everything you have, from weapons, stats to perks, everything had some bad and good aspects that affect your character (including your decisions, obviouslly).
This doesn't happen in the "new" Fallout world, everything is to make you better without consequence, altough Obsidian did a good job trying to balance things in NV.

Xbox Live allows for games to add 250 points of achievements in a game every quarter, that can only be unlocked with paid DLC.

Also making a final boss more difficult by giving him a bunch of HP is just the lamest way ever to make something difficult. Or to any enemy. Make them actually difficult to fight, not just difficult in that you'll run out of bullets before you take out of half their HP.

Well the Burned man was said to be implacable, able to take a lot of punishment, they can aslo make him super fast and program him some crazy moves.

A factory or something similar I can bring back to life solely with my repair/science skills (Helios One was a joke on that side).

I mean a facility that would require lot of effort, gathering resources and some kind of difficult quest to get running, but would yield some awesome stuff. Or at least be mentioned in the ending slides (again, Helios One failure was it that nobody seemed to care about it in the least).

I'd like to see an expansion that adds stuff the the wasteland that will give you more reason to put points into Survival. Maybe some Survival speech checks or weapons that need a good survival skill to use.

I agree, survival is the most useless skill. Even on Hardcore mode, I don't think I had it over 30.

On my most recent game, I have it pushed up to 40 just to get the rad resistance perk. But the 25% resistance can easily be achieved by simply wearing T-51 power armor -- I only wanted that perk because I don't plan on using power armor for my latest build.

Also, there's Jules in North Vegas square that has a survival speech check of 50 or 60... I am kinda curious what happens when you get that speech check.

Maybe some of the tribal weapons in HH will require a high survival skill to be successful with them. Something like blowdarts or tomahawks seem like they'd fit in the 'Survival' category.

I can't see how a melee weapon would fit into Survival, rather than Melee... maybe a blow dart. But perhaps a special light-weight armor made from some plant material or animal shell, could require a high survival skill to craft and/or wear.

Getting a high DT lightweight armor made from radscorpion shells would make it worth having a high survival skill, IMO.

A tomahawk like the Native Americans used. Really any weapon that can be crafted (except explosives) or looks homemade would fall into the "survival" category.

Edit: It would be cool if you could make armor out of animal skins with Survival. For instance a Survival of 25 would allow Coyote skin armor, level 50 Nightkin armor, level 100 Deathclaw skin armor. Then make it so the only way you can obtain these armors is with a high enough Survival.

Survival should also affect your combat with animals, that's just common sense.
