It's far from finished but is a compilation of some good mods.
I would have posted in the mod room, but i was afraid people would advertise their mods to me. I just wanted a general consensus of players, less modders. Wouldn't you agree that the game deteriorated late game... some of the minor quests were as generic as they come with no interesting dialougue. I was also underwhelmed with the buildings in SF (the only unique one was the arch)... i was expecting more from a late game technological center.

If i remember almost all buildings have just one floor
The game is very good until you finish reno. After that is just about military base (that has lack of story) and poseidon (tanker).
The game could be more developed in the last cities indeed.
Major patches and mods for them
What's generally the best patch out there for Fallout 2? I understand it's Killap's, coz the other having some critical bug?
But most important question is, what mods will work with them, say with Killap's?
What i have tried and read, nothing works? :/ Patch fixes a lot of stuff, THANX for that! But if i wanna play Killap's with Vertibird mod or Very difficult mod, is that possible? Like they wouldn't overwrite same files..
And if you guys are still working with them, why don't you combine your knowledge and efforts and release an unofficial patch including major bug fix patch with some modding to make it "completely" bug-free with a couple new places, creatures, mission etc.?
MIB88's mod includes most of Killap's fixes and has a nice collection of mods in it (vertybird mod included)
Thanks, that's just what i was looking for =D I was too confused about all these different patches and mods. From readme these should all work with single extract-copy-paste rather than killing myself with separately adding..
I haven't even heard of these unofficial patches until lately. Last Fallout 2 play session was years ago.
Can't wait to make space for 700MB(?!) and install it. If all new features work, I'll call this unofficial Fallout 2 expansion pack =)
Hey guys, I'm feeling the Fallout itch again but this time I want to play through a new story line.
Can anyone suggest a top notch MOD for F1 or preferably F2 that has a story with a good length and quality content.
I'm basically looking for something with a quality story line, as close to the original story lines as I can get.
Search the forum for "New Vision", it's your best bet.
The MegaMod includes New Vision and more...try that one...

Especialy if you want see alternate game ending: when you bring GECK to village, shacks will be rebuild to stone buildings. It have many parts close to original story but also many weird ideas like alternate temple. There is also several unfinished parts: half-empty new locations (mod is complete in 70% but playable) So am not sure all of this you will like, but its good if you want see many new things (one from largest F2 mods)

I think I worded this poorly. I'm not looking for a story line similar to the original ones in terms of events and locations. What I meant to say was similar in terms of quality, humor, duration and context.
Not sure if that changes anything, but if it does, are there any more suggestions?

What about a F1 mod?
I started playing F2 but felt like starting with F1.
The mod doesn't have to be just an addition to the original story. If its high enough quality, it can be original.
Well i never played any Fallout 1 Mod but...this one looks good.
Lich will your mod ever be integrated into Megamod....I really like that improved Arroyo idea of yours...
I guess that really needed to be addressed to the both of us. I really like the work Lich does. When he gets things finalized, and if he doesn't mind, then I will put elements into the Megamod. As you might have seen, that is what I have done with a few of his projects (like the Taxi and I am currently working on adding in his Vault 5 outside of San Francisco).
That would be awesome if this was added into the MegaMod
Mods worth playing
Hello. Im new to fo2 modding scene and i dont really know what should i start with? What are the best and most interesting mods in your opinion? Ive tried to search the forums but no luck so far... cant find anything that im looking for, there's a lot of large threads but reading through 40 pages or more isnt a solution at all. So what are the mods that definatly worth playing?
Survivor is an interesting mod, it adds some new weapon and ammo type's, and changes a few things in game. You could also try the EPA, Primative and abby mods, but personaly, I would wait till killap finishes his current modding project and makes fallout 2 what it was supposed to be.
What do you mean by that? Are not fully satisfed with plain fallout 2, are you?
