Sweet! You go, guys! I'm rooting for you along with the entire community!
If only I knew russian...
Just watched this review/playthrough of this and I have to say I am very excited for Sonora to release in English!
Any update on the translation? It's been awhile.
In worst case scenario (1 person working on it) it'll come out before the end of 2023. Currently it goes much faster with multiple team members.
A big update for Sonora is supposed to come out in a few months, so that'll be extra work.
As an inside man i can tell you it's progressing.. the head of the project is busy with real life stuff recently, so we manage on our own right now.. can't share the details, but i'd expect a insider's test alpha version pretty "soon" (TM) as in Blizzard Entertainment's "soon" (TM).
Don't worry, the fact that we stick to ourselfs and are pretty quiet outside our discord channel, doesn't mean nothing gets done. In fact we devote the majority of our free time into translating, although it wasn't always the case for me, i was bumming around playing games just like all the ppl that are not on the translation team, despite me beeing one that belongs to the team, while others worked hard. Now there's only a handfull of the devoted ones left, and some of them are busy with real life stuff, despite that, progress is going forward. just be mindfull, there's still a lot of QA to be done before anything goes public, so there is a lot of work ahead of us.
I don't know if i'm allowed to say this, but apperantly old characters get some new dialogues too for example
head of casino in Phoenix
will now be able to give some quests after we've gained enaugh reputation in town.. Previously he would always shoo you out saying you don't have enaugh rep despite beeing idolized in Phoenix for example, no matter what. Nvm You've already wrote about it.
I might have said stuff too soon.. it actually is going to take a while b4 an actual insider alpha tests.. we still have handfull of files from the dialogue folder left to do, as some of the folks that agree to work on the project, have quit and never finished what they've claimed, and additionally whole game folder needs to be translated, as sonora made a lot of changes here and there, so it's not just a straight up 1:1 copy from Fo2, it's still going to take some time..
Has the events in Ukraine impacted the translation process? Sorry for the sensitive subject. I'm just curious. That's all.
I haven't been in contact with translation team for a while, i always thought they are Russians mainly, so i have no idea how the war on ukraine impacted the translation speed, it impacts me only a litlle as the refugees came in large quantities to my city, and it's a little bit weird to hear every second other person to speak half Russian half Polish with eastern accent, local accent is quite different, and having so many outsiders just feels a bit awkward.
As you may have guessed from what I've wrote I'm not Ukrainian myself either.
The reason I'm not doing much regarding translation is it's summer, and summer temps are killing my pc 30⁰C + temps are not good either for me nor my rig, and living in a slum with only single power phase electrical grid attached to my house, effectively kills off any wet dreams of air conditioning. Last time i had contact with the translation team was just b4 easter.
Then on Adolf's birthday my grandma kicked the bucket, so there was a whole mess around that, and like 2 weeks ago my mother got her leg injured, and so i had to run around and babysit her as she hopped around with disability sticks in both hands to support her..
So there you have it folks, and yeah likely i won't be able to run my pc until september/october when the temps tone down... ...or.. not at all.. if the Russians decide to 'moove in' after already settling in Ukraine, and begin *disposing* of the local population, just like they do it in Ukraine right now.. as i myself might be found '6feet under'
You mean the translation or that the Sonora mod is considered completed?
Still looking forward to the translation. I tried the unofficial version awhile back and it just destroyed my ability to focus.
@_Pyran_ the Sonora thread is here.
I could do a proper first post if I get some links.
In the coming days I will make the design and links.
Mod version - later.

Anything new on how the English Translation is doing so far?
Sorry, still 2 hot 2 run my pc, to chceck up with translation team tomorrow's forecast 37⁰C that's like over 90⁰F. I haven't been in contact with them since all the heat issues started.
It's not the case of my pc overheating but my familly complaining of the additional heat my pc generates, and demands the pc shut down.
Is it still too hot to run your pc?
Nah. it's rather chilly actually...
Sorry for not updating the thread.. I'm still not in contact with the translation team. My whole family had covid infection during the past month since like 05.09 my mother started to feel pretty bad, medics took her in to a hospital, there was a whole mess around that, i didn't want to spoil the bucket with home sewer on all of You, but since You're asking for it :p.
Anyways as it turned out discord no longer works from web browser, had to get that stupid desktop app to get it running.
Sonora's patch 1.10 made a whole lot of stir, since all files need to be re-checked now, progress is going forward but it's going slowly last time I checked. For the most part, it's pretty quiet there, like there was a monthly break or something, it seemes though as the real life is pressing hard on the translation team, just like it does to me. I mean last time i contributed something was like in april, i still have lot of real life duties mostly helping around the house. I cannot really pass on them, So my time to do anything else is seriously limited, any free time i have is making timestamps on my complete playthrough vdeos of Last Hope mod for Quantum Apprentice, so that when he watches them he might actually record a proper playthrough of the mod, for everybody to watch. It is important to do as Last Hope is probably the oldest total conversion mod out there, however it has little to no coverage besides few clips from Quantum.
